OK, I can’t resist sharing this with my ’05 sisters.

FH’s aunt is constantly making comments and snide remarks about our wedding taking place on a Sunday and how that is unheard of for Catholics to get married on a Sunday (she is out of state and CLUELESS!)

So you guessed it…. at her daughters wedding 2 years ago, she actually asked the wedding guests to fold their own chairs and put each one in a bag that was provided.

AND.... she asked me and a few other people to serve lemonade to arriving guests.

this aunt is a beyotch & a snob, so I find it very funny that her own daughters wedding was so darn TACKY!

I dont think that the lemonade thing would bother me too much but making the guests fold up their own chairs and put them in bags is super tacky!!!

While I agree it's pretty tacky... Outside of NY people have very different ideas of what is acceptable for weddings and what is not. I was once talking to a woman here in rural va, and was asked if my wedding was pot luck, which is apparently what many do down here.

'Come to my wedding, but bring a dish'

Maybe in Ohio that's no considered tacky, but common practice.

Definitely tacky....you want your guests to feel special and relaxed...you dont want them folding the chairs and serve lemonade aftwerwards...

I'm not sure what the liquor license laws would be... but I doubt they would have been allowed to have us serve it. this was an old 19th century house on a lake where the ceremony was being held, outside. it had no catering facilities on the property. they paid a site fee to use it, and I guess they didn't want to pay the chair fee

Folding the chairs is unbelieveable!!! Did they have to wash their own dishes after eating too!?!?!?!
