Other stores: Scrapbook Cottage in Levittown Scrapbook Patch in Millers Place
Michaels has some classes as well but I think they are a little pricey.
Have fun!!! What a great hobby to share with your mother!!!

Re: Help me Scrapbookers!!
Micheals is VERY expensive.. one of the classes is 40.00 plus supplies..
there is also the little shop of stiches in Wantagh.. and the scrapbook store in islip.. and of course there is the Creative memories class, but that you would need to host and get at least 6 people for..
If i had my was in my house and had my cropping room set up, i would have you guys over.. not that i am the best, but it would be free..

Re: Help me Scrapbookers!!
Consider contacting Creative Memories and having a demonstrator come to your home. Invite a few friends, and have a small class. You get free beginner supplies, and then you can order more. Or you can then go to any of the stores to buy stuff. They may be a little cheaper. FM me if you want more info.

Re: Help me Scrapbookers!!
You can join us on Dec 27th at the Scrapbook Patch in Miller Place for a crop. Its not a class, its more of a get together but there will be people there who are willing to help and get you started. It will be from 11-5, with lunch (chinese I think) and its $15 pp. Newbies are welcome. Last time Swags1016 came and had a great time, got some great pages done and is going to join us again.
ETA: Or you can check with the local SB stores to see if they have gift certificates for classes or crops.

Re: Help me Scrapbookers!!
I took the $40 class at Michaels. It's actually a two part class and the supplies were minimal. That and the eyelet class were my favorites.
