FH and I are hosting a Valentines themed party for a bunch of our friends. Its an evening party -- so I'll be serving desserts and hor d'orves (sp?). I want to do a warm, romantic feel to our apartment.
Anyone have ideas as to what to serve, how to decorate (centerpiece ideas, what to put around the room, etc.), and any other suggestions for the party???

well flowers , candles, choc. candy , you put a cute movie on , thats about all i have lol never did a party for v-day i just always go out .. But have fun let us know what you do ...

what about everything being black & red.. those are romantic colors.. table linens & maybe some flowers?
definitely chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries.. candles..lots of pillars of all different heights.. silk rose petals on the tables.. soft classical music in the background... not too many lights..
this totally sounds porn-ish!

HAHAHAHA. yea its hard to do without going too over board. We're actually not doing it ON valentines day -- its going to be the evening after (b/c of course everyone wants to spend v-day alone with their sweetie).

Hot chocolate with mint schnapps and heart shaped marshmallows! You can get the heart shaped marshmallows at Williams Sonoma.
A heart shaped bundt cake!!!!! Put the heart shaped pan on your registry!!!!! Also at Williams Sonoma
Heart Shaped Linzer Tarts! By 2 heart shaped cookie cutters, and another really small one...bake the cookies and fill w/ Rasberry Jam. Sprinkle with Confectioners Sugar

champagne is a good idea -- didnt think of that! Choc covered strawberries is an absolute MUST. LOVE those!!!! Hmmm....what color roses? My apartment has a lot of reds and golds and off-whites. Pink probably wouldnt match.

reds & whites would look nice.. As an after thought though... they jack up the prices of roses for Vday.. Maybe silk for the party- that way you can save some MAJOR cash

Haha...we bought FILs a chocolate fountain for xmas this year and we could probably borrow it from them....but I would end up camped out next to it all night and that would be the end of my weight loss for the wedding

oh....another idea....make a cake with white frosting and decorate it with strawberries... OR, Butter cookies with pink and red icing!!!!!!!!!! To make the hard icing, just mix water, confectioners sugar, and red food coloring!!!! Add only a tiny bit of red for the pink, more for the red color.
