Thank you ladies for your honest reponses and advice! Not sure what I'm gonna do yet...or how I'm gonna tell him how I feel...

Thanks again

Do you think if you spoke to your parents they could call your brother and give him the 'Don't bother your sister speech?'
What if you impose a rent to him maybe that will turn him off to the idea of living with you and instead he'll go to your parents...Just tell him between the wedding and everything else another body in the house (electric, water, etc.) will cause your bills to go up and you cant afford that right now.

i would just tell him that given the situation, there are some rules and you're happy to help him but he has to respect that you're letting him live rent free in your house for 4 months

also, maybe pay for him to stay in a hotel on your wedding night and the night after? or just politely ask him to stay with your parents or your other brother those two nights

i understand the touchy situation - you don't want him to think you're being mean, but at the same time, you dont want all of your space taken over (esp by someone who is sloppy)

i'd just let him know that he is more than welcome to stay but it is not going to be a cakewalk by any means - you still get to workout, you still get to watch tv down there and he has to suck it up. you're doing him a favor - least he can do is share the couch a couple of nights a week

I would tell him no given all the reasons why but maybe let him know he can stay there on the weekend or something.

i'm sorry, i know that he is leaving for 2 years (this is me being nosy, but what program is he in that he is moving to Argentina for 2 years?)
but i would not let him stay with me. If your other brothers house is much larger i would stay with him, however, i think he is being a bit selfish and should just move in to where your parents will be moving to. Plently of people have to commute 50 minutes or more a day and since it is only for a few months, if i was him i would not be bothering my newly wed sister to move in with her. i would just continue to live with my parents and call it a day

I would try to explain to him that you just don't think it would work. The situation would put a strain on your relationship with FH and with your brother - not for any particular reason except that living together in such close quarters with someone other than FH can be very difficult - every little thing a person does can start to get on your nerves. You can't have alone time whenever you want and you'll constantly be worrying about your brother and trying not to bother him - in YOUR own home. Especially during this time, leading up to your wedding, things can get very stressful in the best of circumstances. I know your brother might get upset if you say no, but in the long run, I think it would be the best thing you could do for everyone involved.

It's through his grad school...he'd doing 'field work' for his major...I still don't understand it at all...I think he is observing the culture there? He already lived there for 3 months and is fluent in spanish.

I COULD NEVER but different strokes, different folks I guess! But the part where they don't let you leave to visit your family is a major ...this includes holidays....

Anyways, thank you for your advice!!!!
