Our 1 Year Anniversary is coming up in late March and my Hubby wanted us to go away and celebrate but I have been so busy with other things and also TTCing. I really didnt plan anything.
So now I was thinking instead of going somewhere far and spending lots of $$$$, maybe we can drive some where and getaway for a long weekend to a resort or B&B.
So if anyone has any suggestions, please share I have been searching all over and there is too much info and not enough time, since I actually have to do some work.
thanks Kimberly

What about New Hope, PA? There are lots of b n b's up there and little shops and restaurants.

Try Block Island, RI. You can drive to Montauk and take the ferry. They have a ton of B&B's with amazing views, quaint restaurants and shops. It's not peak season yet, so you may just get some great deals.

Re: Help? Need Romantic Getaway Suggestions
DH and i just got back from spending a nice romantic weekend in Mystic, Connecticut. The town is so cute with lots of bed and breakfasts right on the water. A lot of the resturants are on the water too. Check out the steamboat Inn, The Whaler Inn, and The Inn at Mystic...all really nice romantic places with fireplaces and private jacuzzis.

Dani - that's a coincidence about Mystic - my brother was just there with his fiancee too this past weekend, it's so nice there.
I also LOVE, LOVE Newport, RI - they have amazing B&Bs and fantatic resturants and mansions to tour.

One of our favorite places we went to was Jim Thorpe Pa, we stayed ina beautiful bed and breakfast, witha fireplace in our room, he town itself is surrounded by Mountains, they call it Switzerland in America, we went white water rafting and just hung out, very NICE restaurants, we thought it was romantic! I love that town, we may go back in March!

Mohonk Mountain House.
I've posted many times on how much I've enjoyed staying at this place .. you can do a search. It is definitely worth the money, and far enough to feel like you've actually gone somewhere, without feeling like you've gone far.
In Jim Thorpe the is a murder mystery weekend place called the Harry Packer Mansion!! I took DH last summer for his birthday, it was a lot of fun and the property was amazing and the food was great!

WOW, girls thanks for all the suggestions, it really is a great help, keep them coming.
All the places sound great, thinking we will hit one where there is skiing or snowtubing stuff nearby, Mike doesnt really like skiing (I do but dont want to torture him) but figure we can maybe go tubing or see if we can rent a a snowmobile.
I like the idea of the fireplace in the room though, also a jaccuzi tub.
thanks again. i will let you all know when I decide and book Kimberly
cluelessbride - Hows it going? How are you plans? do you have a picture of your dress? hope all is well, things are good here

Re: Help? Need Romantic Getaway Suggestions
Hi Berlykim!
No dress yet - I am under the massive delusion that I will somehow lose weight in the next few months and will buy my dress then. I still want your dress! It is my favorite!!
But otherwise planning is fun. I'm really enjoying it.
Hope you have a good vacation - let us know where you went and how it was.
