HELP! Need to a find a florist and photographer

Hello out there!

I currently live in Maryland but am planning a wedding on LI for next summer. I don't have a lot of time to travel back and forth to do the wedding planning so I need your help.

I am looking for a photographer that does or specializes in photojournalistic/candid photos with a package that includes 1 album and 2 parent albums for no more than $5000. Any suggestions? The only one I am considering right now is Patken, but I am hoping for something a little more photojournalistic.

I am also looking for a florist that has a package around $2000-2500. I am willing to be flexible with the type of flowers in the bouquets/centerpieces/etc., but I don't want them to look cheep with a lot of filler but no flowers. I haven't seen any florists yet.

I am going to LI in a week, but I only have one day to see vendors. Please suggest what you think are the best vendors in this price range. THANKS SO MUCH! Wish me luck!

FM LA Blossom - I live in Calif. and she is great, we FM all the time and she helps me with more than just the flowers. My flowers aer in the range and I told her NO FILLER on anything. She is so creative.

B rett M atthews Photography is definitely in your budget. Check out bethsiar's wedding review with proofs - I think you'll love them!

If you want to contact them you can get the info off their website.

UPDATED: We used BM and would NOT recommend them.

check out Pedestals for the florist...
I am using Patken for photos
both vendors fall w/in your budget...

Forgot...for the photographer I am also looking for one that does video as well and I am hoping to fit the photographer and video in the $5000 budget.

Photo: Andreas Rentsch / A Candid Affair is amazing. It is very photo journalistic.
More so than then the 4 other big photographers I saw.

definitely check him out. He does it all A La Carte so the day is a flat fee of about $2.150.00.
With my album and 2 parent albums it will be about $4,000 give or take a $100.

We are using Flowers By Brian. They are wonderful. I definately recommend them, I have been to 2 wedding that they used them and it was great. They also do the wedding each year on 'Live with Regis and Kelly'

Thanks for the help so far!

I have a long list of photographers and a short list of florists. Trying to cut down the photographers and add more florists. More help is always appreciated!

I second LA blossoms..Laurie is so helpful...I love her...

As far as other florists..I dont know too many...Do a search...maybe you'll see more threads on it..

My photographer does a lot of photojournalistic work and is a vendor on here. It is North Island Photography. He fits in the price range you mentioned, but he doesn't do video. I don't know someone who does video in your price range. A great florist within that price range is Burton and Son in Melville, NY.

Sorry I can't help with flowers but you should try Perceptions Photography . They specialize in photojournalistic work and they definitely have packages in your price range. Good luck!

Check out DUET for pictures. Do a search for the OFFICIAL DUET PHOTOGRAPHY THREAD. It has a lot of pictures and reviews and the basic package.

Thanks again for your help!

I have booked some appointments. Pedestals was so polite and helpful. They even bumped someone so I could get the time I wanted, hehe. I can't wait to meet with them!

Anyone know anything about Artisan Photography in Plainview? They were very polite on the phone, but would not give out any pricing.
