Help needed from Experienced Cruise Vactioners

Planning to go on a cruise but do not know a thing about them....found very helpful websites but need more advice!

Looking for a party cruise line leaving from NY to go to Caribbean......fun, upbeat, young, great food and entertainment......

Any and ALL suggestions welcomed!!!

Excluding Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Bahamas and Aruba - Which part of the caribbean has more of a nightlife??

Re: Help needed from Experienced Cruise Vactioners

I recently went on a cruise out of New York. The Carnival Legend. Goes to San Juan, puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Tortola (BVI). The cruise itself was a lot of fun. Puerto Rico was dissapointing as well as Tortola. St. Thomas was amazing. The only thing you can really do in San Juan is go to Senoir Frog's and drink. Not a lot of shopping there. Can't do the beach thing because you dont get there until 3pm. Tortola is new to tourists so all we did was the beach which was beautiful however the ride there was scary. It was a roller coaster ride, very steap mountains. We had a blast in St. Thomas, lots of great shopping, beautiful beaches and you are there the longest. There is plenty to do on the ship so we still had a blast.
There aren't many cruises out of New york. The only other ones I know is to Bermuda and Canada. Happy planning!!!

I went to 4 cruises already but, all the one's I have been to left out of Florida. I would recommend Royal Carribean over Carnival Cruise Line IMO the ship over all was not as great as Royal Carribean. The post I visited last with RCCL was Jamaica, Labdee, Mexico and Caymen Islands. We had so much fun

I am not experienced as I have only been on one cruise but here is one critical word of advice. Bring motion sickness medication in any form possible. I used the transdermal patch AND Dramamine. I still got a lil queazy so I used compazine to help with nausea and dizziness. My aunt had given me some as shes is a nurse but the boat medical office ran out of their shots (which they charged $125 for)- most of the boat was sick because the water was rough.
