I am looking to spend around $6K for a band for a Saturday night in September. Can anyone recommend any good bands in this range (affordable, not too expensive...$7K max). Also, how many of you were able to see your band perform live before you booked?

Definitely recommend Heart and Soul from Franklin Wayne Music. They had my dance floor packed the entire night. They play showcases all the time. Heart and Soul

I'm having Franklin Wayne's band Vision.....saw them at a showcase and booked them that night ...they were awesome...the one thing I am looking forward to the most!

We are using Planet Groove. My FH was at a wedding with them 2years ago and said it was the most he has ever danced, and he has been to A LOT of weddings....I saw them a couple of weeks ago at a show they were playing and they have SO much energy, the female lead vocalist is amazing and they are definetly in your price range....FM for more info..
We had Niteflight..truly so talented. They rocked my party and were the nicest people to deal with.
They were also one of the most reasonably priced bands since they book independently. They are a 9 pcs band with 5 singers and a 3 pc horn section.
We saw them at a showcase and then saw them at a club..we were really able to get a feel for how they worked the crowd. They play live all the time. DH and I still go to the clubs to hear them play.

My MOH had The Mystic! LOVED them!!!! They perform at Hudson and McCoy during the summer, so you can check them out before you book. I was going to get them, but we decided to go with a DJ instead. But the Mystic is AWESOME - fun and they sound AMAZING!!! Her whole wedding was up and dancing and the you really forgot you weren't listening to 'the real thing' a few times! Plus, the lead singer isn't 'full of herself' like I feel some other wedding band singers are (one of my personal pet peeves). The guys are great, too! You can go onto their website and listen (but even that doesn't do them as much justice as they deserve). go see them live!

I second Heart & Soul...we're still getting compliments on how great they were...and the dancefloor was packed all night long!
