I'm not a thin girl by any means and I would hate to be in a mermaid, but I really think when you are a BM you suck it up and deal with it. Not sure what the color really has to do with anything?

Re: HELP Needed PLEASE!
I think it's very considerate of you that you want to give her a special role in your wedding.
i may be biased, because of my job, but being a 'coordinator' is ALOT of work, and while it means that you trust her, it could be more of a hassel than an honor.
I think you should just get her a boquet and sit her in the front row at the ceremony at your head table so she can still feel like a bridesmaid w/o having to walk down the aisle or wear the dress.

I think some may be a little confused when I say coordinator...by NO means am I trying to have my friend a DOC...I pretty much need her assistance with the procession for the ceremony. 'Coordinating' the members of the bridal party, making sure they are all lined up and also parents are lined up in the order they will walk out and also pacing everyone as they get ready to walk out (this is very important for me, as I would do this myself if only I could! ) I would also like her to arrive at the church to make sure things are set up accordingly (havent reached this step yet) and she would also be there to assist anyone if need be,maybe pass out the programs or make sure theyre visible and ensure ppl are seated where they should be. Thats it! once that part of the ceremony is over, shes pretty much finito! I would also have the reception hall announce her as my coordinator once the bridsl party is being called out bc I think that deserves a mention! Again just a thought..

I see what you're saying, and all that stuff is important, but it's still work.

Yes its work but I honestly dont think its asking her to do anything ridiculous...esp being that I have a small bridal party and there will probably be 75-100 ppl tops at the ceremony...asking her to do this wouldnt be any different than asking my MOH and BMs to help me out with certain things before the wedding as well (JMO)

Re: HELP Needed PLEASE!
I read this whole thing and can't help but wish she could be in a pink dress but maybe a different style. I didn't check when youre wedding is but I was hung up on a particular bm dress and as I think about it, its more impt for my ladies to feel comfortable enough. I understand others points about her sucking it up and wearing the dress, but it'd be worse if she's so busy sucking it in the whole night, afraid to rip a stitch and can't even enjoy the party!
The organizer/coordinator thing could be a bit much for her unless she's the type to really like a lot of responsibility.

I agree....it was most important for all of my girls to be comfy...I took all the girls and showed them 3 options that I liked and we all chose together - I guess you purchased your dresses already? In this case if you didn't purchase and if she's that important - I maybe would consider a joint effort in deciding on a dress that would make everyone look great...and to answer an earlier post - if someone is uncomfortable with their body - wearing a different dress in the same color is like a beacon of light in the night. I would feel like everyone would know why I was wearing the different dress. Being plus sized I certainly know how this feels - and why I accommodated everyone with the dress b/c I didn't want them to wear anything that I wouldn't HTH

Re: HELP Needed PLEASE!
my take on this is, many, many years from now when you look at your photo album of your wedding day, will you be happier to see a uniform look of girls wearing a dress that you like (sans your friend), OR would you be happy seeing your friend in those photos.
i think it's a matter of personal preference. I, personally, couldn't care less what my closest friends look like as long as they're standing by my side on my wedding day. i wouldn't want it any other way.
p.s. or could you 'give' a little and still go for a uniform-ish look, but perhaps one that is a 'one style fits all' type of dress?
