Help! New Here
Hi, I was recommended to this site by my future sister in law who swore by it when she got married.
I am recently engaged and looking for recommendations for venues either in Nassau or Suffolk in the warmer months like late april, may, june, or july 2015. We are looking into friday or saturday night. Right now we have about 150 people on our guest list.
We have only looked at one venue, Timber Point. It was very charming.
Looking for feedback on other places with a great outdoor setting for pictures and cocktail hour.

Re: Help! New Here
Welcome & congrats! Crest Hollow Country Club and Woodbury Country Club have pretty outdoor cocktail hour areas. Crest Hollow we checked out and were quoted for June of 2015 for at a great price. I was at a wedding at Woodbury this past October and enjoyed the venue. I think Woodbury might be a place for a bigger party though, not sure. The wedding we went to had over 350 people!!Chateau Briand also has a gorgeous outdoor space for cocktail hour!

all mine are way under that! my budget was like $60/pp! but keep in mind the prices will go up for spring time!
for example Westbury manor was $65/pp ++ for jan, feb and March ess $73/pp++ I think so April will prob will $80/++
Jericho Terrace was $80/pp++ for jan , feb and March was $90/pp ++ so April will prob go to $100/pp ++ don't forget the ++ bc that really adds up!!!
some good places I liked were stonebridge country club, timberpoint country club, Stewart manor country club, chatue le mer, thatched cottage, sunset harbour, Atlantis aquarium and they would all be under $100/ pp in the spring I think! most of these quoted me $65-$75/pp ++ so I could only imagine April wouldn't go from $75 to $110 you know! there is more I'm sure but I'm drawing a blank! the lessings website has prices and thier menus. good luck!!

We are getting married at JT and its $85++ (tax & service-standard) with a 175 minimum & that is for a Friday in May. They don't have 'grounds' really but have a few places for photo ops. I was dead set on a place with pretty grounds but my luck it would rain & we wouldn't be able to use it anyway lol.Crest hallow & woodbury cc quoted me $85++ for a sat or sun day wedding. Crest hallow wont allow you to use the outside cocktail hour (during the day) after MDW & before LDW bc it's a country club. If you booked before MDW or after LDW it was $1k something extra for cocktail hour

I didn't go for a formal food tasting, but I have been there for an event before and I also tried some things when they had their expo over the summer. They are having another one in February I think. The food was great! I've never heard a complaint from any of the Lessing's venues about food.
We don't want a big wedding. 150 is our max

I don't have spring/summer quotes but some places that gave us around $100pp are listed below. Fridays are always cheaper than Saturday...time of yr will also increase the price tag on each plate! Good luck & congratulations!Fox Hollow

Re: Help! New Here
Hello!I am new here too :)
If you have any questions about Timber Point, let me know. I had my engagement party there. About 120 people for a Sunday Brunch. The brunch food was delicious but I do not know anything about their dinner entrees. Also, their service was lacking a bit. I was very disappointed when I saw my guests pouring their own coffee. Besides that minute disappointment, I highly recommend Timber Point.
I also just booked North Ritz Club for my wedding. My top three reasons for North Ritz are: 1) One wedding at a time 2) On site chapel 3) They threw in the Viennese hour!
