Help!! No fee engagement photo locations??

Hi everyone!! My fiance and I are getting our engagement photos taken mid-October. Everywhere we end up loving, they charge money for a permit! We were looking for a beautiful place that doesn't charge money to take pictures there. Does anyone know of any good ones on the island???!

Central Park, Dumbo, and I believe some beaches allow it (Long Beach). I think beaches only require it for wedding pictures.

there are tons of parks, beaches, little town areas and streets that you can find to take pics, we did our e-pics in the city, but Captree is beautiful or eisenhower park

I ran into this problem too & it drove me crazy! Where in Long Island are you looking to take them? The Garden City gazebo doesn't have a site fee. Someone else said beaches. I've seen a lot of people take pics on Fire Island

Astoria Park is another option.

Queens Country Farm Museam may be nice that time of year if you want a fall vibe.

We looked into beaches but then realized its october so we decided we want something with more of a fall atmosphere. I love DUMBO but we kind of wanted to stay on the island- Nassau or Suffolk doesn't matter!!

We fell in love with Sands Point Preserve but they want to charge $250!!! :-O

bayard cutting arboretum
highline park
hallockville museum farm
oheka castle
sands point preserve
old westbury gardens
greenport is cute
eisenhower park (although it gets crowded)
martha clara (depending on the photog there's no fee)

some of those have fees though, but it's a list i've been keeping for family pics in the future

THIS! Not sure if they have a fee either, but even if they did, it would be worth it!

Oheka Castle is beautiful, but doesnt offer photography on site anymore unless you are having your wedding there and taking pictures the day of your wedding.

Bayard Cutting Arboretum is gorgeous and there are so many gardens to choose from. Though, I got engaged there so I suppose I'm bias. FH had his best man who is a photographer take amazing photos of us during and after the engagement. The only cost I know of was parking which was about $8 per car.
