Help! Planning from out of state...
Hi everyone!I've been engaged for a little over a year now, and am ready to start searching due to grad school. I live in Maryland, but was born and raised on Long Island, so planning will be a little long distance. After searching, I've fallen in love with Jericho Terrace, but also like Crest Hollow CC, Fox Hollow CC, and Chateau Briand. I'm interested to see what kind of pricing information you all have received already. We will be expecting around 200 guests, and the day/time of the year is super flexible. Thanks for all of your help!

Re: Help! Planning from a distance...
Ooh Chateau Briand, great choice! For a Saturday night in October we got it for $132 a person. We guaranteed 200 people. This is the quote we were given when we booked it this past August. It will probably be much cheaper for a January wedding.

I second this!! CB is a great venue. My fiancé knew a family member of one of the owners, and they gave us $10 off per person. It came out to about $117 for us For Sunday night in Oct, and use of the outdoor space for cocktail hr. I think they call it the twilight deal if you want your guests to be able to use the outdoor space, and they charge extra for that. Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong. We're having our ceremony in their outdoor space as well, and it was a $1,000 for the ceremony fee. Thats all I can remember for now. Hope that helps. :)

Looks like it's a CB board so far :) I got quoted less for my April wedding on a Saturday night - but I think it's because it's still very cool so the prices are less. I also booked almost a year and a half in advance. But I dont recall the 'twilight' thing. I was told my guests could use the outdoor space if it was warm enough for cocktail hour, but I doubt it will be. I am also getting married there - and the fee is $1000. I am hoping I can at least get married outdoors, but I'm a realist LOL. The indoor space will be fine i'm sure. I'm guaranteeing 200 and using the upstairs Leonardo DaVinci room.

Most places will give you pricing information over the phone if you tell them you are planning from out of state and can only see a limited number of places when you visit. I'm planning from CT which isn't as far but most places were willing to give more over the phone when I told them that

Yes! $85 ++ for tax & service. They actually include the service now so its $102 plus whatever the tax will be for 2015. Any questions, let me know!

Larkfield
Milleridge Cottage
The Sterling - Champagne Room, preferably

Re: Help! Planning from a distance...
It's looking like we'll be having a winter wedding, so we won't be able to utilize the gorgeous outdoor grounds. Also, the indoor room didn't really do it for me, if that makes sense.

since you said a winter wedding, I'd highly recommend the milleridge cottage. It is so beautiful at christmas time and the cottage ballroom is HUGE. we are expecting around 200-220 people and that room fits over like 400.. Great price too! If you want more info feel free to FM me

Also, if you are looking to do a winter wedding I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Watermill in Smithtown. It is absolutely stunning in the winter time. White lights everywhere!

I'm a sterling caterers bride!!
also using the champagne room, that grand entrance staircase.... so excited!!! they have an all inclusive package year round! 100 people for $9995 for a Sat night for a buffet style reception! I think sit down is 10,995?they have thier full menu and prices on the website. if u dont like the options for thier dj, limo , or photo company and want to just get the hall and not so the all inclusive its $65++ /pp I think. that's the price for everyone over the 100 if u do the all inclusive as well. the champagne room holds 400 or 500 people. which is the only room I would reccomend for u for 200 guest! we r having 175 for $8k basically. I have basically gotten all I need through the all inclusive package just need an extra limo, 10 extra centerpieces abd the bouquets and stuff. everything else is to fit my theme.
I picked this bc we liked the grand entrance (my friend had the same thing at russo.on the bay but paid triple! ) they have up lighting around the room included, and tvs for slide shows inckuded (like Jericho Terrace which er liked but was double our budget!) and then there is the 10x10 led light show boards which no other place that I know of has! instead of being in the dance floor there is 2 on each side of the head table!! oh one last tip or fyi if u make an appointment with the sterling u want to deal with Bill or Yama u dint want the lady!! I didn't like her at all if I delt with her I may not have booked! yama is the owner but works with clients as well!!
sorry I didn't get back to u sooner my phone didn't alert me that anyone psted!!
oh and I've never been to the riv but I've heard it's pretty and reasonable I think I've have heard $65 ++ for a fri night winter!

Im sorry I never got any quotes from these places, but I am planning my wedding from North Carolina so if you have any questions about out of state planning let me know! I did a lot of my major vendor booking when I was living upstate, so I would make trips to go and see the vendor that I had thoroughly researched.

The Watermill is gorgeous! I live somewhat close by and went to Sweet 16s there years ago and can't seem to look past that. Thanks for the tip though!

Grand staircase entrance?! Have you seen that? I am planning to schedule an appointment this weekend to get more info. The all inclusive is very convenient especially from being out of state, but I'm nervous I won't like what's included (I'm so picky.) Are you pleased with all of your vendors?
