Tough call!!!
I would be a wreck and stress it. The poor guy though....
Well, your FH knows him best. You obviously just know of him. So I would leave the call up to your FH. Go with his decision. You trust him right? SO trust him to make the right decision!!

WOW, that's a hard one. Does Felix have a wife or a girlfriend, or anyone that could come as his date. Is your fh inviting anyone else from his work, that felix is friends with.

If FH is not inviting anyone that felix would know, then I wouldn't invite him. Unless he has a women as a date.( Women can always control the men )

If Fh is inviting people from work, then yes you can include felix.

Re: help please

has he ever done anything to you or someone else that makes you think he would do something embarrassing? or are you just judging him on his appearance and the fact that he is poor. that is sad and wrong.

i'm hoping i'm reading it wrong, but weddings are supposed to be about sharing your day with people who are important to you. regardless of how they look or how much money they have.

i doubt this guy gets out much. your wedding might be the highlight of his year. does he have any friends??

i think it is really mean to not invite someone because they 'might' ruin your wedding--unless you have proof that he would. if FH likes him and works well with him, he should be invited. a perfect wedding doesn't have all beautiful people at it--it has IMPORTANT people at it!!

i really hope you think about the real meaning of a wedding.

Re: help please

If your FH wants him there, there is a reason for it. Why would he ruin your wedding? If your FH thought that was a possibility (say the guy is belligerant and nasty when he drinks) then i don't think he'd ask for him to be on your list. Am i correct? I think you are worried about being embarrased that this guy won't blend with your other guests. Believe me when i say, no one will notice or care if this guy is a little different. Like summerbride said, it might make his day to be invited...and don't worry about getting him there and back, that isn't your job. That stuff will take care of itself if this guy goes. I think you should definitely invite him, unless like i said, there is a solid reason.

Re: help please

TRUTHFULLY, I TRUST MY FH IN MAKING THIS DECISION.. THE REAL MEANING OF A WEDDING IS WHEN 2 PEOPLE LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND WANT TO CELEBRATE IT WITH FREINDS AND FAMILY... DO NOT GET ME WRONG. I AM GETTING MARRIED BC MY FH AND I ARE VERY MUCH IN LOVE... I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED JUST TO GET MARRIED! THAT IS STUPID, AND PEOPLE WHO GET MARRIED NOT FOR LOVE SHOULD JUST NOT MARRY....

I WILL LEAVE THIS UP TO FH I JUST WANTED TO SEE SOME OPINONS.. FELIX I AM NOT SURE IF HE HAS A LADY FREIND.. I HAVE SEEN HIM THOUGH IN CHRISTMAS PARTIES AND IT IS A DISASTER.... ALL HE DID WAS DRINK AND DRINK AND DRINK.. MAYBE THAT IS WHY I AM CONSERNED.

HONSETLY THE DESISICON IS FOR FH TO MAKE ... HE MAY OR MAY NOT INVITE OTHER COWORKERS... THATS UP TO HIM ALSO...

THANKS FOR YOUR IMPUTS.

Re: help please

i think if others from fh job were invited (are they?) this man may be left out if he was not invited.

its this guys job to worry about transportation-not yours to worry about - and thats if he even responds 'yes'

i think out of courtesy he should be invited

Re: help please

SO I am assuming you and your fh have no other friends or family that have the tendency to over imbibe when the libations are free? I have heard many stories of people that get drunk at office parties- I am sure they don't all go around also ruining someones wedding...

he smells and has no teeth? yet your fh thinks he is good enough to come....I don't know...this sounds mean.

Re: help please

i just realized...why did you even mention that he's hispanic? i know you said no problem there, but why even mention it?

would you have said 'FH has a white friend at work?' probably not.

Does it matter?? Are weddings about people coming dressed to the 9 in a fancy suit?

I'm missing something...

SUmmerbride 06, I agree with all of your post and especially this part. It might be the highlight of his year...I get teary-eyed thinking about this poor man, who smells and has no teeth. Who cares that he doesn't have any money...maybe he will make you a present or just tell yout that he had a wonderful time at your wedding and thank you...that would mean way more to me than a present off my registry. Think about it

Absolutely! She is right about the trusting the FH. He wouldn't want a bum at his own wedding either.
