ok so, i really want to invite all my friend's parents to my reception, HOWEVER due to wayyy too many ppl being invited, i have NO room.... so i thought it would be cute to send them an invite to the ceremony... BUT i cant think of a good way to be like 'sorry we dont have room at the reception, but would you like to come to the ceremony??' lol well i wouldnt quite say it like that, but you girls get the picture!
does anyone have any suggestions of a cute poem or way i could do this???
TIA

hmmm I am not sure what I would do...you may not even have to invite them to the ceremony b/c they will probaboy come to see you anyway...I feel like most people understand that we are often limited in people to invite

eeeks that is a tough one. I think its best not to invite at all and hopefully they can understand that every person planning a wedding can't invite the world.
Something like this happened on bridezilla where a ex husband was invited to the ceremony and not the reception and I kinda agreed with him. I rather not get invited at all.
My opinion though.

I think it's rude to send an invite just for the ceremony. But, i'm in a similar situation in that w/in my group of friends, we're all close w/each other's parents. But not everyone (& their parents) can be invited of course. What's been happening so far as we've all gotten married is that the parents just come to the ceremony on their own. I think most people know that ceremonies are pretty much open to whomever wants to come. You don't need an invite. My parents really wanted to see my girlfriends get married (they watched them all grow up) so they just went to all of their ceremonies, but they never expected to be invited to the reception. And the same w/my other friends parents.

I agree with what the girls above said. I have been invited to many ceremonies but I dont go if I dont go to the reception. Its just awkward (sp?) at least to me.
An idea, have your friends tell them about attending just the ceremony and see what their reaction is

a couple of my friends already did this & they are really excited to go to the ceremony!! i dont think my friend's parents are the type of ppl to get upset or offended by getting an invitation to only the ceremony, i just thought it would be something nice to do

Re: help please!!!
This is bad. (For others, you should send your invitations in sections. - I don't plan weddings, but I plan plenty of fund raisers and other events.)
How about, 'John* and I feel so blessed by those who care about us. We have received overwhelming responses from people who love us. We would want everyone to share our special day, but we have already reached a max. capacity at the reception hall. We would try our very best to accommodate you (without violating a fire code or we will get arrested), but if can't would you still bless us at the ceremony?'
Something like that???

Re: help please!!!
Most people I know do 2 invites.
1 set for ceremony and reception and the other set for ceremony and dance.
