Hi everyone. I am new to this. I am having my wedding on 8/28/04 (exciting, but stressful) I am the first of my friends, and dont have much help. We booked the reception site, the Bourne Mansion at the old Lasalle college in Oakdale. We were hoping to get a band, but it seems like it is a good amound of $$. (We are paying for it all ourselves). We need assistance for all major areas (flowers, photo, video, etc). Any suggestions for good quality, but reasonably priced vendors in the suffolk county area. Thank you so much for any help. Hope to hear from you soon!!! and congrats, all.

Re: Help Please?
Patken for photo ( they are a vendor on here)
and wild rose for video (another one from here)
Both are very very reasonably priced, will work with whatever your budget is and will do whatever you want them to do.

Re: Help Please?
Wild Rose for video. Bellarino has gotten good write-ups too.
Flower Michele in Huntington for flowers.
VIP in Port Jefferson is reasonable and plus you get TWO photographers!
Music by Michael for DJ. I also looked at Spin Around Sound and Get in Tune who all get good reviews.
Search for wedding reviews for ideas of who to look at.

Re: Help Please?
I hear Wild Rose is good for video, we aren't doing. The girls on here love Patken, I used a friend of a friend, whose stuff I have seen before. Photography by Carol...she is doing b&w's at a very reasonable price. We are using Perfect Parties for the DJ, he's kind of expensive to start, but talk to him, he will work with you, and he is really, really good. Flowers...Burton's or Jack and Rose

Fran Diamond Music & Entertainment (631) 587-7183
I have not used them or heard them, but I spoke to the gentleman who runs it about a reception hall and he was really nice and said he is much cheaper than any other bands. He said he also comes with a DJ and is willing to work within your budget. Let me know if you go to hear him. I am not at that point yet. I am still choosing between Russo's and Oheka.

Re: Help Please?
Congrats and welcome! Here are my vendors. I'm getting married in 2 months, and will give final reviews then, but so far they have all been WONDERFUL.
Invites-www.renaissancewritings.com I love love them! They are fast, inexpensive and had exactly the look I wanted
DJ and String Trio-Expressway Music, Manhattan. www.expresswaymusic.com We love David and Dan! Very reasonably priced, classy. They are in the city but will travel (don't know about travel time costs).
Flowers-Christopher Devin Celebrations. I think she's in suffold, http://www.christopherdevincelebrations.com Marie is a doll and is very reasonably priced. I know several people who've used her and loved her.
Photographer-Jonathan Hubschman, Manhattan but will travel www.makarion.com One of the nicest guys and best photojournalists I've ever met, and I've met a lot.
Coordinator-Janet at Society Weddings, Suffolk. Like her so far, highly recommended by others, can't give much info on her yet though, just now booking her.
Dress-I can give you lots of advice on looking for dresses in the city, not much on the island (except Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn which I would HIGHLY recommend).
BM dresses/FG dresses-RK Bridal, in the city, but you can order online. Price was best but haven't come in yet so can't recommend for sure.
Hair and makeup-I'm using Jennifer at Fairytales, (that's Merrick, but she travels) for makeup for myself, a friend of my FSIL who does Mary Kay for my girls (had to), and my personal hairdresser from the city for my hair. Can't give any reviews on them yet.
Toss-www.lavendergreen.com We're having a lavender toss instead of petals!
I still need veil, shoes etc. So, if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way!
