Help Please (From Honeymoon board)

I just posted but i dont think it went through...

...Right now I am a little confused and I could kick myself, really, for not researching enough.

Back in September we booked Secrets Punta Cana. Usually I am not a big beach person, but FH and I figured it was our honeymoon and we did not have to constantly be on the go. (Neither of us know how to relax..we get super bored quick lol)..

SO..Now my parents are in Punta Cana, and they called quick and they sound MISERABLE! However, they are NOT staying at the same resort. I called the travel agent over at Liberty (who is honestly of no help whatsoever) and she isn't giving me any options.

What should I do? Should I try it because it is a different resort? I am just afraid of the stomach issues and bugs (yuck lol). I did hear our resort is nice. I also don't want to be bored. We only have a budget of like 2800 so its hard. And I dont mean to sound like I am whining and all, I just want us to have the best possible first week as husband and wife.

Any suggestions? Other places? Should I stay? Thanks girls :)

I went to Punta Cana twice and I had so much fun. There was stuff to do at the resort I was at.. no bugs or stomach issues. I loved it so much that I recommended to FH and they are going in April for his Bachelor Party.

I am sure your resort now is great, I heard good reviews about it. But I stayed at the 'Iberostar Bavaro'. All inclusive and they have alot of ammenities.

Did your parents specify why they are having such a bad time?

I heard really, really great things about Secrets and I'm sure it will be beautiful. But you might want to consider that you're going on the brink of hurricane season.

There is a Dreams (owned by Secrets) in Cabo and I bet you could go and stay within your budget. Aruba is also out of the hurricane belt and a brand new all-inclusive is opening there (or just opened.) It's called Occidental Grand Aruba.

I LOVE planning trips and did so much research for my HM. I'm happy to provide suggestions if you want to FM me.
