I found my reception hall but now I have to decide between a Friday night in November OR a Saturday night in February. Do you think that the weather in Feb. will be a problem for my guests???

I've heard of people getting married in blizzards and ALL their RSVP'ed guests showed up!! Don't worry about the weather, or what's convenient for your guests.. its about what YOU want ( and can afford)

do what you can afford.. i was all set to get married in a winter month to save soem money however my place doesnt do discounts like that.. so i picked what i wanted

Well do you prefer a friday or a saturday? Do you want fall for your photos or winter? Is one day cheaper than the other? You can't predict the weather. Its impossible. Will they give you something extra for one day as opposed to the other?

I would do Saturday just because I want to be able to party and not have my guests worry about getting out of work early. But it's a personal preference and there is no wrong answer!

I really did not care either way between Fri or Sat, but my future in-laws don't like the idea of a Friday night. Yet, they have not offered to pay the difference between the two nights and there is like a 80$ difference. And if I go with Feb. 2010 I get $10 off a head, centerpieces, photographer and an upgraded cake! Please Help! So confused as to what to do!!!

I love November for the fall, my fave, but as you see I'm getting married in the dead of winter. I'm getting married in the winter for a few diff reasons. One is that Sat was a little more convienent for us and our guests so in Jan it was way more affordable, two if the weather was THAT bad the venue would reschedule the reception for the following weekend or something free of costs, and I figured you know what a lot of people don't go to winter weddings, so this will be something for people to do not in the height of wedding season lol. I went from April to Jan lol so that was a mighty big change, but our wedding with everything included will be half the price!
You really have to figure out what you picture as far as YOUR wedding & go with what fits you guys.

i like nov better than feb - but if you are dead set on a saturday night then by all means do feb......we are a fri night in december - we wanted sat but the room was already booked and doing friday saved us some money anyways so it worked out - my concern with feb is that its usually super cold! my bday is feb 11 and it always snows!

Well, I guess it all depends...would you be getting married in Feb. 2009 or 2010. If 2009, I would choose November just b/c that's cutting it close with getting a dress since it takes 6 months to order. Plus, many vendors will prob. be booked.
But if you are talking about 2010...I think I would still go with November. In Nov, there is always a chance it will be comfortable weather. In Feb., it will definitely be COLD! But it would be beautiful if it snowed on your wedding day. =)

i would go with november. it's a really nice time of year, and like somebody else said, you can do alot with the colors.
well..i am a feb bride and always deamed of a winter wedding but i honestly only picked the date because its the same day my great grandparents were married on in 1927....its a sentimental thing for us...thats all. I must tell you though that i really lucked out with that. Dont know if you've priced anything yet but Novemnber is still considered high season so if cost or budget is an issue for you then thats a no brainer. If not then it depends on the theme you are going with. The fall is my fave time of year...its just so pretty outside! The winter can be scary with weather but then again..this global warming stuff has changed everythign and you never know. I must say though...a 'white wedding' is awfully gorgeous if i dont say so my self...I kind of like the whole bare branch thing just as well..... Honestly though...it all comes down to decor and money....take it from me...if i didnt WANT february....i wouldnt be doing half the things i am able to do since we are paying for everything ourselves....it should be illegal....lol

so sure you can choose between nov and feb based on weather but whose to say it wont be freezing or monsoon in november and be nicer in feb....i wouldnt make a decision based on weather, i would do it on price, choice of day, convenience of guests
