The only thing I can say is be honest, they don't really care, they didn't criticize us for anything. It's really all about listening to each other and paying attention to each other. There are no right or wrong answers to anything.

we are doing pre cana too, but it starts on wednesday evening and we have to go for the next 3 wednesdays... I don't really think you have to answer questions. if you want to then that is fine, but i don't think you are forced to. I think the main idea is for you to reflect on marriage and issues which surround marriage.

Re: help! pre cana questions

we just went for our 'Prenuptual Investigation' at the Church here in CA and I was totally freaked out. It went well, I guess, and I just hope that Pre Cana is better. I know that its horrible to say, but the Priests made me nervous. I think that I was afraid of saying something wrong and him 'denying' us from getting married at the church. I totally understand how you feel. Good luck and at least you get it over with in one day!!!

We just finished this on Sunday. We too were worried about them frowning on certain things. But being honest was the best thing we could have done. FH and I really walked away gaining from the experience. Have fun!

I am worried about it too. My FH and I are thinking the worst .. they might reject us i the church

but honesty is still the way to go.

Pre Cana was a breeze...my FI was especially worried because he's Jewish...so he doesn't know anything about the Catholic religion.

It was more 'exercises' in communication, etc...I didn't find much preaching. We actually walked out of pre-cana happy and glad that we went.

Is this at the church or in someone's home? Mine was at a couple's house and they were very relaxed and didn't judge. They actually told us that the two wives had both been on birth control.

My fiance and I are inthe middle of pre cana. At first we didnt want to go and were not really into it. but you do get somethng out of it. We go to a house and the meetings are run by a couple. They are not judgemental like back in the day when the priests ran it. It actually very beneficial for us. And we met some nice couples. Just be yourself and be honest. it is for you as the couple, not for the church.

Re: help! pre cana questions

We went to pre-cana about 2 weeks ago for a one day Sat. session. I too wondered what to say and what not to say. It was much better than i thought. There was a married couple there and no priest or deacon at all. The couple were evry nice and down to earth. We didn't have to share anything aloud. It was all on a voluntary basis. They did give us a booklet with duplicated question pages about certain topics. They separated the men from the women to answer the questions. Then brought us back together to discuss it only with our partner. So it was all very private. Hope you have a similar experience .
