Help! Reception Order - First Dance during Dinner?

Appetizers waiting for guests on table.
MC announces/introduces bridal party, family, and bride/groom. Then we immediately do the first dance, right?

Will dinner be served yet? Or will they just be eating appetizers?

Does the daughter/father dance and son/mother dance go on while guests are eating dinner?

Ack. I'm so confused. I've been to several weddings and NEVER paid attention.

Your first dance with your husband is right after the introductions.

Usually, father-daughter / mother-son dances are after the cake-cutting... but you can also do them right after your first dance if you want to.

You're allowed to do it however you and your FH want - it's YOUR day!

At Glen Island, your salad is on the table when they announce the bridal party and the bride and groom. You immediately go into your first dance, then everyone has the option of joining in. Then your appetizer is served. Hope that helps.

Also, your father/daughter dance and mother/son dance is done while guests are eating cake.

Really it's you day so you can do it however you want.

Typically here is the order:

Introduction
first dance
some more dancing

mom/dad dance

some ppl do the mom/dad dance after the first dance also
