I had my 2nd make up trial yesterday and this time tried the airbrushing, when I got home and looked in my mirror I was startled out how much it looked 'caked' on.......I thought airbrushing should look flawless? This was a highly recomended vendor so I am not sure if its my skin maybe?
Has anyone else exp. this? It was really thick and you could see it when I looked in the mirror...it was very very scary......

Can you FM me who did it? and any pics you have?
I really dont wear that much make up anyway and I was so excited to try the airbrushing - it almost looked like it created lines and wrinkles on my face that I dont have yet....
I am afraid not to book the person though if it may be just me because I am not used to make up.

Re: Help! should airbrushing look like this?
I've only had one trial (and booked her) and it was with airbrush foundation. I looked like I had great skin and like I wasn't wearing foundation. You could tell I had makeup on (blush, shadow, mascara etc) but the foundation was not caked on at all.
I always heard it's supposed to just look like you have great skin and not like it's caked on. My MU artist also did apply concealor beforehand where I needed it and she mentioned that she did that so she could minimize the amount of airbrush foundation she uses.
I am using Mia of BridalLounge.
ETA: here's a closeup of the makeup so you can get an idea of how my foundation came out when she did it:

my artist did mention that inexperienced airbrush users can have negative results..
It really should look and feel flawless..I did not feel it at all I NEVER wear makeup.

Wow Mrs. Q, you look awesome.
So when you looked up close in the mirror it didn't looked caked on?
I have really big pores and I saw them even more with the airbrushing. It was so contradictory to everything I thought airbrushing was....

Re: Help! should airbrushing look like this?
I have to admit when I had my airbrush trial I felt like I could see the make up on me in the mirror, but for me, it could just be b/c I'm pale and it gave me more color in my face. The funny thing is in the pictures I took, my skin looked flawless and you couldn't see the make up at all. However considering I felt like I could feel the make up on my skin (it could be my skin type), I booked Oksana and went with the natural make up instead. I have pictures of both trials in my album. HTH!!

I am getting airbrush done but I did wipe my face down a little bit because I never wear that much make up especially foundation.

Thanks! When I looked in the mirror it did not look caked on at all. You really couldn't tell I was wearing foundation. If anything it looked like I was wearing some powder and then on top of that blush, shadow, etc.
I'm not sure what to say about the pores being more visible Honestly I was so surprised that I felt like I was not wearing ANY makeup - at all. Maybe you should try another trial? If not, how about going with traditional makeup?

Re: Help! should airbrushing look like this?
Thanks so much for all your help - I have another trial booked with another vendor and I might try the airbrushing one more time and then try the traditional one right after that if it looks the same....I like the idea that the airbrushing stays on longer but I don't like the idea that I look like a paler not so tan Magda from Something About Mary. :)

lol- What a funny comparison. Unfortunately, I also felt this way about my makeup trial & I actually posted this concern of mine a few weeks ago. The makeup sort of reminded me of how the makeup looks on a deceased person. I wasn't wearing contacts on the day of my trial so I couldn't see the progress & when I finally saw it, I actually scared myself- I felt it looked horrible on me. I'm having a trial with natural makeup tomorrow- I'll let you know how it goes.
My second (of 3) makeup trial was airbrushed, and in all honesty, I don't get what all the hype is about. It didn't look any different, nor did it stay on any longer. Actually, my third trial with regular, non-airbrushed foundation and powder was the most natural.
I've heard a few complaints about the popular vendors on these boards because girls do tend to look super caky after airbrushing... If you're not happy, definitely find somone else.. Good luck!

I had airbrush done by Anne DeMarco and it looked amazing - I looked like I have flawless skin, which I don't. It really should not look like it's caked on or heavy. You should definitely get another airbrush trial with someone else.

I had airbrushing done by Jacqueline Nicole and it came out great...stayed on all day..even after my TaeKwondDo class...my skin is very uneven and it made me look normal! here's a before/after. (last pic was taken 11 hours & after sweating my @ss off at TKD class)
