I would hope that my FMIL will not get the insane idea that her new DIL or my FH's SIL's parent's can be invited to our wedding! Personally, while I understand FSIL's mother is FH's 'family' - it's by law and through FH's brother. I just don't think it's necessary. We aren't having a huge 300 person wedding, we are keeping it to 100 people which is hard enough without in law's families. I mean, my p's may not have been their legal family at the time FSIL and FBIL got married, but still, they had a small wedding so I could understand why my p's weren't invited. I see no reason to invite her p's... besides... someone has to babysit FSIL's 3 kids let her mother do it!

Re: Help! Should we invite...
I was in the same situation as you, and ended up inviting DH's brother's fiance's mother at the request of my MIL.
From other family members I heard that all she did the ENTIRE night was bash our wedding and say how her daughter would NOT be doing things at her wedding the way we were doing them.
Then she and her daughter (DH's brother's fiance) ended up leaving EARLY before the viennese hour! Needless to say, my FSIL and I don't have the best relationship.
