MY FH & I were going to get married early next fall. Last Spring the place we were going to get married at, closed down , ok we pushed it back to June 7, 2008 during the summer. My cousin got engaged at the end of the sept, & they're getting married Jan 2008 in Vegas her sister got engaged on halloween & was planning to get married April or May of 2008, Sunday FH, I and his parents are going to our food tasting & we're hoping to book 6-7-08.... I just found out that the cousin that was going to get married in April or May now wants to get married 6-6-08, in North Carolina or NY (she & her FH live in NY). ***? I already reached out to her twice explaining that I was concerned about our weddings being too close together, even though FH & I are engaged 10(almost 11) months before her she insist that since she's older she has to get married first... She doesn't even know what effing state she wants to get married in & she's claiming the day before us 3 days before we do our tasting & sign our contract
I can't call her again since it didn't go well the 2nd time I addredded the issue, & now we're not speaking
I'm not changing my date & now I'm soo beyond angry & hurt ....

If she is so unsure as to what she is going to do, then I think you should go ahead with your plans. And let her know as soon as you book it. If you want to avoid confrontation, then just tell her that was the only date available.

Thanks They knew for 3 months before they were engaged that was the date we wanted , they are just tring to be dificult

my advice. book ASAP and send out save the dates .. that way it claims the weekend for you! hehe

Send them out!!!!! Some people will say it's too soon, but I say in your situation it's the best idea.

aw, i'm really sorry you have to deal with this. i don't think it'a fair for her to the pull the 'i'm older' card. no offense, but f that. you were engaged first. stick with your plans... because god knows if you change it back to the fall, she will too since she seems to be all over the place with her plans. book, and get those save the dates out asap. and no, with the holiday cards isn't too soon, not in this case.

Sorry this is happening to you....I would be upset too but you tried to do to the right thing. I would just go ahead and plan your wedding and maybe your cousin will come around. It would be hard for your families to be in 2 states at the same time. Hope it all works out....Hugs

I don't know why girls do this to eachother,I have heard this story too many times. YOU got engaged first. Go ahead with your plans,especially since you say they knew your date beforehand. The she's older bit is rediculous,I'm older I would never do that and besides if she's in such a hurry let her do it before June,how dare she come so close to your date!!!! good luck girl

I am so sorry that you have to deal with this!! You need to continue to make your plans and not worry about what she says or does, especially since she is only concerned about the date and not the place.
