Not sure what type of STD's you are looking for, but here is what we did.
We wanted to keep it as cheap as possible, but still look nice (don't we all...lol). Anyways.....we took one of our engagement pictures and opened it in Publisher, then added wording on the picture. We saved the picture on a CD and went to Walmart and printed them (4x6). They were 0.28cents each print (we chose the water proof print).
Once developed, we attached them to black cardstock with black photocorners. On the back of the picture, we put a magnet strip on each end (then attached to the cardstock with the photo corners).
Altogether with all of the supplies, they came out to $0.42 cents each. Pretty good if you ask me! :) They are magnets and personal.
We then ordered envelopes from envelopemall.com. They were just basic white envelopes (100 for $9.95).
Just an idea for you

I made ours to..it was fun, although I had limited supplies (no craft stores here like michaels or ac moores), but I liked how they came out and apparently they were a big hit. I designed the magnets and ordered them online and evrything else we printed, cut and glued ourselves.... even got FH to help

I also went online to the US post office and you can do postcard types for save the date. You can even load up your images. They do everything including mailing them out starting at .84 cents a piece.

I was truly inspired by all of the beautiful STD's I've seen on this site. So, I made my own! I am so excited that I just wanted to share with all of you. Hope you guys like them!
I'm REALLY not computer savy so I made mine on Microsof tPaint.
There's pics in my album.
I printed them at Satples on card stock and clued magnets onto the back of them. I didn't mat (sp?) them but I outlined them in black sharpie so it kind of looked matted.
Got lots of compliments and it was really easy!
Now if I could master something like photo shop, I'd be in business!
