HELP! Thursday evening wedding due to budget

Hi I'm brand new to being on here and would loveeeee some opinions! We've looked at about 16 venues and can't wait to finally choose one. The question is do we go with one we like that meets our budget for a Friday or Sunday evening..Our one we love but can only budget for a thursday evening wedding in august? I'm concerned people may not come or come late and leave early or just that people we be inconvenienced because it's a thursday. I really love the place though thankyou!

HELP! Thursday evening wedding due to budget

I've been to a Thursday wedding before, apparently they are becoming more popular. It wasn't a huge deal for me because it was in the summer and I'm a teacher, so I had off ~ but my husband didn't. He ended up taking Friday off and extending the weekend.

I did notice that people left a little bit earlier, though. Probably because they had to work the next day, but you would get the same thing with a Sunday wedding.

I hear that Thursday's are the new 'it' day. I personally would do Fri since not every one can get off the following day. (My job makes getting days off near impossible) Fri is a little easier for people to get out a bit early from work and most will have the next day off, so they can stay the whole time and celebrate with you

I feel that you really have to go with your gut and what you would like since it is your day and people who matter will be there no matter what! But if your guests are a huge part in your decision I would go for a friday since some people will probably have a hard time getting off esp if you have anyone from OOT

What if you have a daytime wedding at the venue you love? Did you price that out? Just a thought. I am having a daytime afternoon wedding and its over at 6:30....My price pp is about half of what it would cost during the evening...

HELP! Thursday evening wedding due to budget

I was considering a Thursday evening at Fox hollow somerley because I fell in love with the room and a weekend wedding was too much out of my budget. I was really concerned about people not being able to come or leaving early after paying all that money so ultimately decided against it. I say go with your gut, it's always right! We ended up getting a better deal at the Riviera on a Friday (almost 40pp less) than a Thursday night at Fox hollow, and the Riviera is just as beautiful (but definitely different).

I think it also depends if you have a lot of out of town guests or not. If you have a majority of local guests, it won't be a big deal, but if people are traveling, they have to take off Thursday & Friday to come, which some people might not be able to do.

HELP! Thursday evening wedding due to budget

I went to a good friend's wedding on Thursday night at Larkfield manor a few years ago and it was absolutely AMAZING! They spent next to nothing per person and yes, people did leave early- but the important ones stayed. They made out very well considering now it's so hard to make money on any wedding because the costs are so high. I would say go for it if your family and friends support you! When we start looking I am going with whatever is the cheapest.... no one else is paying for our wedding! :D
