help! tipping and extra money on the day of

we are figuring out our tips and things like that... everyone says to carry cash on you the day of incase you want to tip more etc etc etc...


how much extra cash should you bring with you that night? and did any of your girls that are married need to dip into it?

also - we are having an outside organist come in to play for our ceremony... he charges $150... do i tip on top of that?

God I hate figuring this out!

You basically tip anyone and everyone involved in your wedding!

The amount of $$ we put into tip envelopes the other night is NAUSEATING!!

We brought extra money..I put more in for my DOC and then tipped each of the waitstaff and well as the bartender. They say it's included in the fee they charge you but it's not it is really how they pay them, they don't get an extra tip (unless you give it to them).

Our waitstaff went above and beyond so we were happy to tip them

if you don't mind me asking... how many waitstaff and bartenders did you tip?? and how much? I never thought i had to do this, because i already have to tip 475 for the matri'd and more for the bridal attendants etc...

I'm personally not tipping the waitstaff. That was never mentioned to me, and where does my 20% service charge go to???? I personally think the tipping is a bit out of hand! Isn't the photographer, florist, videographer, band, etc. making enough money off of me already??? Now I have to tip them hundreds of dollars too????

I agree, it kills me that I have to now figure out where I am going to get money to tip everyone, its such a pain But I guess I have to. I have been so tight with money since the wedding is sooo close I dont' know where i will get this money

I could not agree more, That tipping is a bit out of hand! The waitstaff and bartenders are NOT on my tipping list

Then we also have to pay for them to eat if they are not a house vendor! I understand that it is a long day and they need to eat but it shouldn't be half of what I am paying for each guest. They aren't drinking or eating everything else they are just getting dinner.

i think we're going to bring an extra $500 in case. and this whole tip thing is ridiculous. these ppl see wedding and immediately see $$$$ we will not be tipping the waitstaff but we're not sure of the bartenders yet. i figured that was included in the pp. They only specified the maitre'd and that i competely understand. holy cow - it makes me sick to see all this $ just disappear

Yeah I'm still on the fence about the bartenders... I thought they were included... And don't people tip when they get a drink? I always tip them when I m a guest at a wedding. Hmmm

I never Bartended at a hall so I wouldn't know but at a bar I only got Shift which is NOTHING and then tips is where I made my money I guess you have to know your guests. Are they tippers or not because you don't wnat to screw them. I think hall Bartenders are hourly put a topic up on here about that someone's bound to know!
