FH and I are really trying to pick a date and place, and thought we decided on Sand Castle... until we went to see the Village Club of Lake Success last night. We BOTH loved it! I don't know if any brides on here visited both on their search, but if you did you'd know they are both pretty different. With Sand Castle I feel like I would not have to worry about a thing, it costs what it costs and there's really nothing to add in there ( except for the obvious photographer, dj etc). You get A LOT in your package (which is wonderful, but not all necessary). For the dates we're looking at, VCLS is slightly more, but more involved. I am in love with the views, surroundings of VCLS as Sand Castle is more of a when you get there you want to go inside. The things we're concerned about as far as VCLS is costs adding up, things running smoothly (there is a site fee, and then catering is done through Philip Stone) as well as the help offered to us throughout the process. Any brides that have gotten married at one or the other or went to visit both have any advice or input?

I only saw Sand Castle between those two but presented with those facts, I would go with Sand Castle.

We had our reception at Sand Castle's sister site, Floral Terrace, and had the best experience ever. You can read my review in Bride Reviews if you are interested. I believe they are managed pretty much the same, which was fantastic!

I never made it to see either, but I was in contact with both. Since you both are in love with both of them, I would pick the venue that would require the least amount of extra work, aside from the typical stuff you need (music,photo etc). It will probably make things less stressful for you in the end. Just a personal opinion.

We got married at Floral Terrace also which was beyond incredible - literally everything we could have hoped for and more. However, while Sand Castle offers a lot with their package, it sounds like you both really have your hearts set on VCLS and I think you would regret not going there since you seem to like it a lot more.
We chose Floral Terrace because we were in love with it and all the added stuff was a bonus. I'd go with the place you love, not what's included. I hope that helps!

MrsDtoBe I have to agree, as much as we love Sand Castle, what they offer as well as the staff we have dealt with thus far, it is just missing something that VCLS had for us, and I feel to go Sand Castle would in a way be just playing it safe so that we have less to do. We are going to make a decision this week. Wish us luck! Thanks again!
