Re: help w/ catering mgr.

Ok so here's my dilemma...
I live in FL and my fiance' is from Ronkonkoma. We are getting married there next summer.
I fell in love w/ a hall this weekend while visiting. The catering mgr. had to check on the date and said she'd get back to me. Saturday/Sunday came and went w/ no call.
I called her 3x Monday, left 2 msgs. no call back.
Then Tuesday I called her 2x and finally had a restaurant employee track her down. She said she'd call me back and didn't.
Then I called and left her a semi-nasty message about the importance of reserving the date. She emailed me stating I had the date and any time I wanted and where could she fax/email the contract.
I still have no contract, no she says she does contracts on Mondays. Ugg! I'm so frustrated. Am I a bridezilla?

Thanks,
Heather

I don't think your being a bridezilla at all! She's being a flake. Is there anyone you can speak to over her head?

Oh yeah forgot to tell you. Her business card says 'owner', frightening huh?

thats insane!!!! I am so sorry you are going through this.
I would try & call her again and be firm but as polite as possible & explain to her how important it is for you to reserve your date.
The other thing to think about is....do you want to deal with someone like this throughout your planning!

Geez...thats horrible. If she is the owner...I would go for a different hall. IMO

Honestly I would think twice about having your reception there. If this is how they are treating you now when they are trying to get your business, I can only imagine how they will treat you down the road.

Just my .02.

You're right, I guess that's what I'm most nervous about.
My dad is a retired Marine. I'll have him call them and lay down the law!

If she really wants to have your business she should be kissing your feet, not giving you the run around. Just a suggestion: You could try and use wedding sites and services. You can search by region from a far, that's how I found most of the places I visited.

I know how you feel though, once you find 'the place' it's hard to look again. Especially for you.

Good Luck!!!

You're all absolutely right...but what if I told you, you had to pick a new place? You'd be furious and extremely upset!

Re: help w/ catering mgr.

I think she is being rude-and I know if I was trying to book my date somewhere and they didnt get back to me I would be on to the next.
I have to agree with the above, if this is the way they are now they are always going to be this way! I can understand not wanting to change venue...trust me I dont want to change mine...but its better then dealing with them when you have questions and they dont answer them.

Good Luck, hopefully everything will work its way out-maybe she just has too much to do th is week. Have you tried to call and deal with someone else?

Re: help w/ catering mgr.

I know it seems crazy, but she seems to be the only person in catering, but she's also the 'owner/manager'.
I am on weddingsitesandservices.com, scoping out other venues.
