I really dont know what color to choose for the tableclothes and chair covers/sashes. I was thinking about beige/champagne color for the table clothes and same color for the chair covers with a gold sash, what do you guys think? any better ideas? also, a friend of mine told me i didnt need chair covers because they are 'pretty ballroom chairs' however, the chair looks like this, they kinda have a color on the seat that might not mesh well with the linens I want
do u think just a sash would look with this? lets say, for instance, if i had a full length champagne colored table cloth with just a golden or champagne sash on the chair? I want to have nice soft colors that blend well with the hall... pleaseeee help me

Have you decided upon your wedding colors or the colors your BM will be wearing?? IMO the photo of the hall done up as pictured looks too mellow. You almost don't even see the chair covers and sashes, they almost look invisible against the room. Why pay to have something that doesn't show up. I think the colors that you mentioned are going to 'feel' the same in that big room! I also think with a formal area such as that you should go with the full chair cover not just sash, for a more 'finished' look.
How about a darker tablecloth with a lighter overlay and then sashes to match the tablecloth. I think this will give the room the little bit more color contrast it needs. HTH

i like the chairs. if i had pretty chairs like that i would let them be. if the covers are pressed properly it could look bad.

hey guys! thanks so much for your replies
So, heres some background info
This going to be my engagement party, not my wedding. Im not having bm's and NOT sure about the color of my engagement dress yet, either.... why? well, because im on the biggest most dreadful crash diet, in the world. EVER. lol and im hoping to lose at least 20 pounds in 2 months (my engagement part is april 19, 2008). so i want to hold on on the dress until then, and I can because honestly any pretty dress will do, right?
Well, unless the dress has to match the linens? is that how it is suppose to be done?
I really like the idea of making the linens/tables stand out, but i wanna do it in a way that it doesnt clash with the venue. I really think the hall is gorgeous and wanna have soft colors. I was also thinking of getting the eiffel tower vases, which height would you guys recommend? i dont want them in the way, so, is 24 inches tall enough?
does anyone know if that picture i posted of my hall can be photoshopped? like, for example, someone change the linen and sash and chair covers and overlays to diff colors so that i dont drive myself crazy trying to figure out colors? pleas help!
also, so is white completely out for now? thank you guys so much!!! xoxo

I think it would be much nicer to use the ballroom chair w/out a cover and make a shash on the Ballroom chair.

I was thinking that maybe i would need seat covers then? do you think the seat color as it is will ruin my look?
what do you guys think of light brown colors as a sash and table overlay (on top of beige tablecloth)? this way the brown is a bit darker and stand out more?
