HELP! What to ask when you go to visit venues for the first time?

Hey Everyone

Today I made appointments to visit a bunch of venues in Suffolk to tour their facility. Can anyone offer any advice on what questions to ask? Also, is there any advice on negotiation tactics? I'm so nervous! and I just want to go in prepared!

Dont feel like you have to negotiate that day, UNLESS you think youre going to book that day. If you visit places it gives you time to see what others throw in etc. I know for ours we tried and tried to haggle but they said bottom line - this is our asking price, take it or leave it. We loved it so we TOOK it!

1. What dates are available in the months that I am considering?
2. What are your prices for Fri. night, Saturday day, Sunday Brunch, Sunday Day and Sunday Night? Oct., Nov. Jan., Feb, March?
3. How many people can the rooms accomidate?
4. What's the minimum/maximum?
5. How much is the deposit? When is it due? Refundable? Payment Plan for the rest?
6. Ceremony locations? Close to reception room? Additional Charge? Bride Changing area? How much time is alloted for rehersal? Day of? Night prior?
7. Cancellation policy?
8. Other weddings on the same day?
9. How early can we arrive for pictures?
10. What's the service charge?
11. Do vendors eat free?
12. Price for kids?
13. Is tasting available prior to final menu selection? Additional charge?
14. Do you provide linens? Chair covers? Color selection?
15. How will the bride and groom enter?
16. Additional small room for rent for kids?

Then tailor it to fit your needs.....good luck!!!

Pay no mind to the months.....I wrote those in because usually they have winter pricing which is less expensive than the peak summer and spring months.....sorry about that!
