Help what to do for guest with time btw church and RH

We have a large gap between church and RH and and family members are not happy with gap. We knew that there was a gap and there is nothing we can do about it. The Church is at 3 and RH is at 7. My parents have a small home and i know that would be the common option, but i was wondering if anyone had other suggestions. I was thinking of booking a suite for the night at the hotel and inviting thoses from out of town to go there in between to have a break, i would get a few snacks, drinks and food and set it up. This is the least expensive option that i can come up with, but im not sure if is a good idea. We were able to have our RH open for guest at 6pm, they wll give champange out before Cocktail hour at 7, but no earlier. Please help im open to suggestions?Thank you!

We have the same issue, and my in-laws have decided to host a 'hospitality hour' at the hotel with some sweets, soda, and coffee.

we had the same dilemma and we decided not to do anything about it. I've been to many weddings with the same time gap and either I decide to go to the church and then go back home to finish getting ready or find a nearby bar or restaurant to pass the time. I wouldn't stress it too much. However, you may want to call your RH and ask if they could accomodate early arrivals , maybe they have a restaurant/bar on site?

We have that same issue but we arent doing anything! Usually if i go to wedding like this i will just go back home finish getting ready or hang out with other ppl going to the RH as well

Guests have a choice to either go to FMIL house, my moms house or they can just go home. The only people who are prob going to go to either my moms house or my FMIL house are the OOT guests. The rest will probably go home and get ready for the reception.

my mom and fil's are having people back at their places with coffee/cookies. The locals will go back to their own homes, and many others will be going to the hotel to check into their room, so we're not predicting a lot of people (just some of the bklyn and Staten is. people who are not staying in the hotel). My mom is having a friend who's a waitress set things up while we're at the church and help w/ the serving/cleanup so my mom doesn't have to do it in her dress.

We paid an extra $2pp for two hours 'hospitality' at CHCC before the CH (our ceremony is at 4pm, CH is at 7pm). But I've heard of people doing it in hotels too. If you have a lot of OOT guests, I think it's a must. If not, then I say let people find their own way.

We have 60+ OOT guests so I needed to make sure they were taken care of in that gap.

Let them fend for themselves!
I've always just gone home, gone to a diner or bar.
Also maybe they just won't come to the church.

We have a large gap as well and my parents are hosting those guests who go to the church back at their house. They're just having some light refreshments. We also looked into having the hotel host light refreshments in the bar/restaurant area. I think either would be fine.

We have the same issue - ceremony is at 3:30 and RH cocktail hour is at 7. We just plan to let the guests either go back home or just find another activity to do. I hope more ppl just don't bother w/ the church ceremony and then plan on going to the RH instead. Those in my bridal party or close relatives will just be chilling out w. us while we take pictures.

We had a gap between the church and the CH. We did not plan anything. Many of our OOT guest went back to the hotel to change or freshen up. It is nice to plan something but not necessary. People will figure it out you should not feel pressured to plan something.

My Parents are hosting a hospitality hour at my brothers house my brother lives right next door to my parents...they figured it was easier to have eveyone go there because they are having cookies, coffee and pastries...nothing big I want people to eat at my reception LOL

My Church is at 2 in Astoria and my CH is at 6:30 in Woodbury. So there is a gap and they are 40 minutes away. Alot of my family and friends live in Astoria so they will probably go to the Church then go home and change.

I don't know if I'm having refreshments or anything at my parents house. A few people who are going to the Church will probably head over to the hotel to check in.. or some people will not go to the Church.

We have a bit of a gap too, our ceremony is 2:30 and our reception at 3:30. We are doing shuttles from the hotel to the reception so I am just going to tell people that they can go to the hotel and have a drink at the hotel's bar or freshen up if they want.

We considered doing a party at my parent's house in between but I think since the shuttles are for everyone, even if they aren't sleeping at the hotel it isn't weird to expect them to just go there and get something if they want.

We have that issue, as well. I am assuming most people will either not come to the church or just go to the hotel and relax before the cocktail hour.

I may also give a family member keys to my house so people can hang out there. I live 5 minutes from the church

honestly... i had a gap and no problems.

the guests went to the church and then went home to get really dressed up for the wedding. so they used that time to get ready and travel to the reception. I know it may seem like a lot of time now... but trust me... those 3 hours will go by very fast!!!

I would say either let the guests deal with it, or at a recent wedding I went to the hotel had a 'hospitality room' with light refreshments

My RH has coffee, cookies, champagne, etc set up for any guests that arrive early. They actually told us to have guests go there after the church.

I wouldnt worry about it though...people will figure it out!!
