Help... When to have engagement party??

Hi everyone, just got engaged almost 2 weeks ago. Is the beginning of the summer too late to have an engagement party? I have a nice yard so would like to utilize it. What are your thoughts?

I got engaged at the end of August and because there was so much going on.. We're doing it next summer too! :) I figure it's still over a year from my wedding so it'll be fine!

I feel like you can reasonably have an engagement party any where from a month into your engagement up until a year into (also depending on when your wedding date is!)... but that's just my opinion :)

Ours was a month & a half after we got engaged.

We had 2, one in NY with our family here, and one in Wisconsin with FH family. The one in Wisconsin was in August and the one here was in October. We were engaged in June and are planning a April 13 wedding. I would day you can do it whenever you are comfotable with it. I would recommend keeping it a year before the wedding though.

This is such a good question and I'm glad to see that everyone thinks it's not too late! I got engaged in November but due to my parents being out of town, we may have something when it starts getting warmer. Also, I would have just liked to have a casual barbeque for the families and bridal parties... so if the wedding is a year away I say go for it too!

Def. not ...i never had one and i been engaged for more then a year ..and i dont think we are having one but the summer is a great time I think

we just got engaged this past week (yay!!) and are deciding when and if to have a party...would love to wait until the summer, but not sure if it will work! Good luck!

I got engaged christams 2009 and didnt have my eparty till oct 2010.

and got married nov 2011

FH and I got engaged Christmas Eve of 2009 and we had our engagement party in August of 2010. We did a backyard party also. You can have it whenever you want! It's your party and your time! Do what makes you and FH happy!!!

I think an early Summary EParty is a great idea! Do what is going to make you happy. Plus, this will give you more time to plan.
