Help with alterations!

Help with alterations!

This is a multiple question post sorry.

Have any of you ladies purchased a dress at one salon and got alterations at another?

Where did you get the alterations?

Were you happy with the final product?

I purchased a discounted dress at a salon and I was originally going to get my dress altered there until I confirmed the price of the alterations. I have time until my wedding but I am looking for someone to alter my dress at a reasonable price.

Please help!
TIA!

Re: Help with alterations!

the place you buy your dress from will make alterations for less normally because they cap the price if you buy it from them. ANother place wont do this and will charge for everything being done, if you have a little bit of work then its ok but otherwise everything can get expensive so keep that in mind.

I do not think I am getting my alterations done at the place I bought my dress...I have heard shifty things about them, and I am not too comfortable with it. I recently started looking into good taylors....still looking if anyone has a good recommendation!

Hopefully we will find a good place to get our dresses altered.

Re: Help with alterations!

I bought my gown at David's Bridal and refused to take it there for alterations. I took my gown to Christine's alterations in Levittown on Hempstead Turnpike. I was very happy with the final product. She fitted me once and the next time I went back, it was PERFECT!! And the price was much more reasonable than what a bridal salon would charge. Her store is not much to look at...but they did a wonderful job!
