Help with Aruba

Hello,

I am looking into Hotels for the HM and wanted to know if anyone had an opinion on the following two hotels:

Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino,
Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

Which one is better? Has more to do? Closer to shopping, activities, ect...? Thanks in advance for your input!!

Also, what is the difference between Palm Beach, Aruba & Oranjestad, Aruba?

I haven't been to either of those hotels but....Oranjstead is the town - you want Palm Beach - its not far from town - maybe a 10 minute cab ride.

The Aruba Marriott is right on the beach while the other one is in town. It is a inexpensive cab ride but it would be better to be right on the beach. There are many hotels by there where you can go to dinner and also check out their casinos/property. Be sure to check out the Hyatt (my favorite!)

Re: Help with Aruba

I agree you may not want to stay in the renaissance as it is not by the beach.

I have been to Aruba 3 times also going back for my Honeymoon next year!

We have stayed in three different hotels best bet is to do all inclusive.

Have fun picking whichever one you do stay in Aruba is amazing if you have any other questions please fee free to FM

Re: Help with Aruba

Thank you everyone!
We are using FMIL's timeshare so I was looking on the Marriott list of hotels. I think we have decided to go with the Stellaris.

Is 6 days too much? I feel like there really isn't much to do there.
Any recommendation's for activities?

Re: Help with Aruba

we went for 7 days and wanted to stay longer!!

We did a jeep tour, swam in the natural pool, shopped, went on a submarine, happy hour catamaran, and snuba and snorkled, and in between drank and layed on the beach! We def had so much to do it was great. We stayed at the Marriott Ocean Club, it was amazing! FM with any questions!

Thank you!
FH has to be back the following Monday - because he will be mid rotations - so we can only go for 6 days and I don't want him to be bored because he doesnt like sitting on the beach all day. :/

Re: Help with Aruba

I stayed at the Renaissance Resort Suites in Aruba it is the sister hotel the the Renaissance Resort & Casino and they are located about 4 blocks from each other. I went for a destination wedding and got to go back and forth btwn the 2 hotels because they have shuttle service and you get to use both hotels when you book with them. I really enjoyed the suites because it had a really nice pool with a swim up bar and a little private beach. When ever we wanted to go to the bigger beach we had to catch the boat at the other Casino hotel to be taken to the island. Most of the wedding party booked the Renaissance Resort and Cassino but were at our hotel everyday because it has more of a lounge type of feel. Both hotels are located on the same strip as restaurants, movies and shopping. Overall both were great!!!

I went to the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino last year and I LOVED it! They have a private island (only for guests staying in the hotel) and it's huge and beautiful! 2 other couples that FH and I are close with stayed there and recommended it to me and I am so happy I chose it. FH and I rented s jeep to check out the rest of the island and while it was busier elsewhere, we were happy with our location.

We did the jeep/landrover tour and FH drove! It was Sooooo much fun!
