Help with Church

Ok.. so last friday we got a church.. went in met the priest and loved it.. the only thing it was a little to far from where we originally wanted to get married.. but it wasnt that bad.. now a month or 2 ago when i started callin churches I always wanted to get married at this one church but when i called they were really not helpful and basically told me I had to be a parshner there.. so i got that dream out of my head and moved on.. now i get a call today from my dad sayin his good friend has a pull at the original church i wanted and could possibly get in.. I didnt leave a deposit or anything at the church that is holding our date but I fell bad. what should I do?? Is it wrong to tell a church your not gettin married there after you looked and were penciled in??? But this other church is my dream... please need advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help with Church

If your not happy with the original church then why stick with it if you can have your dream church...If you feel really guilty about canceling the other church why not make a small donation to them?

I don't think it's a bad thing to change churches if that's what you really want. When I first started talking with my church, I told the priest that we were undecided between there and FH's church, but we were trying to get info from both. I am catholic and FH is episcopalian, so we had to find out the different rules, regulations, and conditions on each church first.

Ultimately we decided to go with my church, but the priest was very understanding with our situation.

I don't think it's wrong....if it was a few months away I would say maybe...but there is plenty of time before the wedding...

no if thats your dream church i say go for it! just book the second one that you wanted first before canceling on the other one.......just incase the one you wanted doesn't work out. Good luck!

if this is your dream church then its worth the shot..besides i am assuming you should know for sure in the next week or two?? just as long as you tell the other church you will not be using them i don't think its a problem.

if ur not happy with the church u booked, and wanna go with the one of ur dreams i would. but whati would do is waht to see if ur fatehrs friend gets u in first. then i would call the other one and cancel.

just call them up, tell them thanks but no thanks, and go for the one you like

The best thing to do is cancel with the church u got penciled in with. Believe me the quicker you do it the better. This way other potential brides don't get told that the date is taken.

I think it is still fine. There are plenty of girls trying to book for 2010. Just cancel with them as soon as you can (but clearly not before you book the other church!).

i think its fine. just let me know to take you outta the book and thank them for their time.

but....before you do...book with the other church and talk to the priest to make sure you are comfortable too!

we were between 2 churches too (actually we are still in both churches books...gotta take care of that)....but one is waaay more responsive than the other. so that makes FH and me feel more comfortable. it is a bit out of the way, but it has a parking lot, the priest was really nice, and they return calls quickly!!!! so i think we are going to stick with that one.
