Help! With Dessy dress #2015

This a great site with so many great people with great advice.

I am hoping some of that good advice will come my way with this unrealistic question: I am in a wedding in early September and am looking for a particular bridesmaid dress sooner than August.

It's the Dessy #2015, which seems to be a favorite on this site. (I'm looking for it in black, size 8 or 10--preferably 8).

I know that even with rush shipping, I'm going to get it in August and am wondering if anyone knows of any stores that carry these in stock (or of any sites where you can get them used).

I have been scouring ebay and I even placed an ad on craigslist...so maybe those are my only options, but I thought I would ask you all, since you're more experts than I am.

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Help! With Dessy dress #2015

Thanks for your help!
I tried all the places suggested (a few on the other boards) and so far, almost every place that you all have suggested has had the dress, and many places were willing to sell the one on the rack to save me time, but sadly, as one in-the-know poster pointed out, Dessy likes to stamp their dresses SAMPLE so that they can't be sold.

Apparently, this is because a lot of the boutiques and salons don't buy the Dessy samples, they get them for free from Dessy. So, the company does whatever they need to so that the salons/retailers can't sell them.

Pretty stupid if you ask me, but well, no one did.

Anyway, if anyone has seen this dress used anywhere, let me know?

Thanks again for all the good tips. This is such an awesome board!!!!

Re: Help! With Dessy dress #2015

I just got the winning bid on this dress on ebay and after I won and paid, the seller emailed me and told me that the cat got to the dress.

I swear, I feel like I am having bad karma with this wedding (not sure if I even believe in that but lately.....it just feels like I'm having all bad luck!)

I think part of the problem with this dress is that it's so cute that even though there were a lot of bridesmaids who wore the dress in black from weddings posted on this board, the dress is too cute to sell!

bummer

I've followed up on all the leads I've gotten so far and on the FM I've received also....if anyone has any other tips or leads, you'll make a stress-ed out MOH very happy.

thanks!!

Re: Help! With Dessy dress #2015

that was the bm dress we were going to get originally. (we've since switched to a different dress, the organza skirt was a little too shiny). anyway I emailed phyllis at gown find [email protected] and she was able to get the dress a few days later so that my moh could try it on. she was also able to offer a really good price on it, I just can't remember what it was Good Luck!
