I would have to say my most memorable gift was from my best friend Jen. She gave FH and I these awesome large bath towels that had Fh's name on one with a $ sign in green (he is in the banking field) and the other towel had My name and a cadusis symbol in red (I am a nurse). Then to go along with the two towels which I keep displayed in my BR a towel warmer rack. It was awesome! We got tons of gifts and still that remains my favorite, becuase she was so inventive.

The lobster pot from my registry!!!

I know, not a traditional gift, but it was the ONE thing I wanted off of the registry. We got it from FH's great aunt and uncle.

a gift card for movie tickets - since we are saving up for the weddding, we don't go out to the movies as much and this was a nice surprise.

My MOH bought us a GIANT piggy bank (the one's they personalize at mall kiosks/booths) - inside it had -

- Gift Certificate for 2- 1hr facials
- GC to Crate & Barrel
- GC to Fortunoff
- 1 bill for each denomination (up to $20) & one of each coin type

on the outside.....'Honeymoon Fund'

I loved it b/c it wasn't just cute & funny - it contained awesome stuff!!

*We cashed in the change we'd been accumulating in it - 6 months = $378.42!!

We received a beautiful Family Tree Book, so that after the wedding we could start our own and pass it on to the next generation!

i didnt have an e-party so i didnt get any engagement gifts -

But i think the best gift would be the toasting flutes - i know if someone bought me those i would always think of them everytime i used them on each anniversary.

We bought FH's brother the swarovski ones - they are so gorgeous - i wish i coudl justify spending that much money on ours.

I got a silver picture frame with our nicknames engraved on it to put one of our wedding pictures in and an Amex gift cheque to use on ourselves to go out to dinner during the home stretch when things get crazy and all of our $$$ is being spent on the wedding!!

A really pretty set of Oneida flatware.

My best suggestion is this: Stay away from picture frames! We received 5 at the e-party and then 2 more that X-Mas...

Re: help with engagement gift

Forgot this - try not to 'tell' people how to use your gift. I recieved a ton of gifts that people wanted me to use their way. One friend bought us toasting flutes from Tiffany's & gave me a whole speech about how we can use them at the reception....but my godmother gave us a pair from Waterford with platinum edging a day after we announced our engagement. Now who's do I use?

Also, I got 4-8x10 pic frames (none of which was our style) & they are all 'for when you get your wedding pictures'

I don't know about you but I don't think I'll have 4 huge wedding pictures up!

**I think the movie GC is an AWESOME idea - I miss going to the movies...

Re: help with engagement gift

My sister made us this amazing memory quilt. She gave it to us after our e-party and included the pics from the party on the quilt She had been working on it for a few months.
It is a family tree for both sides of our families with us meeting in the middle.

Other than that I would say my 2nd favorite gift was Waterford toasting flutes.

Sorry I can not post a picture of the quilt it is too big and I do not know how to make it smaller.

We didn't have an e-party but i think we received more gifts than we would have if we had an eparty...... so many people asked so we registered and got half our registry already

we received so many wonderful gifts but a friend from college heard me say how i loved these particular Tiffany candlesticks... and SHE BOUGHT THEM FOR US!!!!

Re: help with engagement gift

We got money from almost everyone. Three of my bridemaids made us a gift basket with 2 gift certificates for massages, photo album, a memory book to record all of my wedding stuff, candles, and some other cute litle things. I really appreciated all the thought and effort they put into it.

I din't have an engagement party, but here are some great ideas (I think)...his & her matching bath robes, his & her massages. I received a really nice vase from Tiffany & Co. It was so beautiful and I would have never bought it for myself
