Help with Gifts: What Gifts and For Who??

Help with Gifts: What Gifts and For Who??

OK, I bought these great necklaces for my bridesmaids and FH is working on gifts for the groomsman (though he's a bit stumped for ideas). My question is, who else do we need to get gifts for?

-Readers? We have three: his aunt/godmother, my aunt/godmother, and a friend. I think we'd like to get them a little something, but what is appropriate?

-Parents?? This never even crossed our mind until we saw some of you posting here that you were buying your parents gifts. Can someone fill me in on the protocol here? My parents are paying for the per-head cost at the reception, FH's parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner, and FH and I are covering everything else. We figured their gifts would be the parent albums...but are we supposed to give them something else too?? How many of you are doing this? Who is not?

-Each Other??? This one REALLY baffled us when we saw the posts. Are FH and I supposed to buy gifts for one another?? We thought the wedding and honeymoon was our gift to each other...

-Anyone else?? Did I miss anybody?

Any advice is appreciated!

I am not getting gifts for my parents or for each other, my FH and I discussed getting gifts for each other, but it just isn't possib;e with the wedding and we are getting a house built.

I am also considering my gifts to my parents as being the photo albums.

Some people are getting their parents and spouse something, but I don't think it is somthing you have to do.

We are not getting gift for parents.

We are getting gifts for each other though. But many couples give their wedding bands as their gifts to each other.

I think you got it covered, I cant htink of anyone else to give gifts too

Besides our BP, we are buying gifts for our parents, godparents (they are bringing the gifts up during the mass), aunts (who are the readers) and my grandmother.

For parents: Besides a wedding album, each parents is getting a hankie (MOB, MOG, FOB or FOG) and also a Lenox picture frame to put our picture in

For godparents: each godparent is getting a picture frame and at the wedding we are going to have the photographer take a picture of us with each goparent and then we are going to have a 8 x 10 made and give it to them

For aunts (our readers): the same as the godparents

For Grandma: Grandma got a Grandma hankie and the same picture frame and picture like the godparents and aunts.

Here is a picture of the Grandmother hankies:

Hey Alison.

We are getting our parents an 8X10 wedding photo so we got them each a nice silver frame from Pottery Barn. We splurged on our wedding rings and honeymoon budget so that will be our gift to each other. As for the readers, I may get them a frame or a small jewelry box. I was in Fortunoff this past weekend and they have cute things for $20. Might be worth a look if you have time.

Thanks for all the ideas! We don't have any flower girls or ringbearers, but I did realize we should get something for my friend who will be singing at the wedding.

Jenny, where is there a Fortunoff in this area??

Unfortunately there is none around here. But you could order from their web site. I was just there this past weekend ordering our wedding rings.
