help with hairstyles

help with hairstyles

I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow and I figure I should check out some hairstyles perhaps.

I have long straight thick hair and I want to chop it off for a cooler summer alternative.

Any ideas?

i also have long thick hair, but mine has a wave to it.

I always had one layer, angled front cut until last time.

About a month ago, I had bangs cut, had the whole head layered (sooooo much lighter!) and kept the angles in the front... lemme find a pic

Lori, I think you'd look great with long layers, a little past your shoulders with some face framing pieces!!!

For some reason, every time I think of the haircut I'll get, I picture Johnny Depp's cut in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I think my obsession has gone too far now.....

Shorty - I love your hair!!! But I was looking to go a lot shorter than that...I hate my hair in the summer

I was going to post that as an option! But perhaps you should consider more of a 21 jump street sort of cut with an Edward Scissorhands kind of color?

Just make sure you can still put it up. Many a time I've cut my hair in summer thinking oooh, it's gonna be so cool and breezy and then end up spending all of August trying to bobby pin the little stragglers plastered to my neck back up into my rat-like pony tail...

And Farah said exactly what I was going to say - I made the mistake of cutting it short once too - I used a whole card of bobby pins that summer! 100 of 'em!

i think i hate my hair now
it's not that it's too short.....but she talked me into bangs to sweep to the side...which sounded like a great idea....but they look terrible
i'm hoping it was just the way she blew it dry....

I always hated my hair because the salaon I used to go to was bad with the blow outs.
My new palce barely does anything at all--very little producy, it looks much better, you can get a feel for the cut.

You will probabaly like it better when you do it yourslef, but if the bangs are annoying, pin them to the side or wear a headband.

well, i just put it back in a little pony tail and i like it a lot like that - so i'm feeling better.

the problem i was having is that she blew it out pin straight - so the bottom was really harsh....and i have a round face, so it looks strange. i prefer a little curl at the bottom.

and then the bangs were sticking up straight in the air at first.....which oddly enough, is NOT a good look for me but they've calmed down now and i don't feel like crying anymore

so i thought i might like it more if the gray wasn't so obvious....so i'm coloring it now too.
we'll see after i shower and style it on my own
i did take pictures, but i can't figure out how to get them onto the computer
