I have my invitations already and I'm rethinking what I listed as the time on my invitation. The girl at P'apyrus convinced us to use the time guests can arrive as the time on the invitation. It's a half hour prior (10:30am) to the ceremony time (11am). The reasoning being that people will be late.
The invites read:
Saturday, October fourth at ten thirty in the morning Two thousand and eight
I don't want to reprint the invites because I've had SO many problems getting them correct in the first place. I want to keep what I have and not risk another screw up.
Should I leave it as is or should I add this card to clarify? They're about an extra $200 which I'm willing to pay to make it less confusing for my guests.
I think adding the card would be nice. Not everyone is always late. You will have plenty of people that will get there on time.

thats actually a pretty nice idea! in like that, but it isnt something necessary so if it wont be an added hassle and you'd rather have it, then do it that way with the separate card

Re: Help with Invitations and the time (w/ Poll)
We had our ceremony and reception both at the RH. The RH suggested we put the time of arrival as a half hour before the actual start time of the ceremony. So the invite said 12:00, even though the ceremony was to begin at 12:30. The RH provided snacks and such, and a place to sit and relax for guests that arrived 'on time.'
It worked out absolutely perfectly, and I wouldn't worry at all or spend the extra money. Guests won't be confused as long as the RH has a place for them to hang out.

I don't believe the card in necessary. We also made the time on our invitation 30 minutes before the actual start time and I am not concerned.

I do think the card is nice but I think it really depends on your family. I know my one side of the family is always late so something like that is good to clarify.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll skip the card. I don't need the extra hassle and I can get started on getting the invitations out in the mail!!!
