I bought a dress at HnM for tonight and they lft the security tag on it! I dont have a car to go bring it back right now. Fhs dad is picking me up and going right to church. Anyone know how I go about getting the tag off?

you can't -- sorry! Don't try, you will ruin the dress, you have to get back to the store, they need to use the machine. Good luck!

Great! Its the only thing I really have thats appropriate. I have a summery dress I can wear, but I think itll look ridiculous for this time of year. I just dropped off all my dress pants at the dry cleaners since I dont need them for work for a few days. Is it wrong to wear jeans to church on xmas? I never have worn them to church before... maybe I can dress them up with heals??

You can take it off... my dad has taken off so many for me and never once ruined the article of clothing.
Do you have pliers??? You might be able to cut through the little metal piece that connects the two plastic pieces.

Or a really strong magnet, that's how I would get them off when I worked retail....

I would use a really strong magnet, I wouldnt try cutting it off because the ink will leak out...but i would go back and complain maybe they will price adjust it for the inconvienence

use a scissor and pliers to hold the other end. careful not to mess up dress though

just try to find a place thats open today, maybe a walmart and see if they can take it off for you :) sorry...u can also try a strong magnet but dont pull it, it will ruin the dress

Girls! Thank you for the help!! I gave up on the dress and ended up finding this other one I had- I don't really like it, but I didn't want to wear jeans to church. But it was fine. I didn't want to rip the dress, so I am going to take it back to an HnM and have them take it off. I have to print out my credit card reciept though because of course they didn't give me a reciept! I always ask for them to put it in the bag- ill have to take them from now on!
