Hi, I just got back from LI and while I was there I looked at a couple of Photographers. Just so you know, you can only book Imagine Studios only if you use them for Photos and video. That's why we didn't even look at them. I heard her pictures are great, but I've looked at videos done by people in the photography studios before, and they were horrible. I suggest looking at an actual video company. That is if you're getting a video. Anyway, we booked Paul Marino. He's great. Excellent work and personality. I highly recommend him. We got a really good package. Also, he's the only photographer. It's his studio and his work. Which I think is a big plus. You don't have to worry about who your photographer is and who's work you're looking at. Check my post... Just got back from Long Island... I mention some stuff in there. Good luck!

Fine Photograpy by Eric in Forest Hills
We just got our proofs this past weekend and they're great! We did color and black and white. While Eric was shooting the color shots his wife was shooting B&W candids. He suggested some really great poses and even hubby's grandmother (who's more negative than positive most of the time) said several times that we had wonderful photos when she looked at the proofs this weekend. http://www.ericsphotos.com is his web page. There are a few examples there. He's putting together a new web page and will be using some of the shots from our wedding - that's how good they are.

Lee- question regarding Paul Marino
I`ve heard good things about him - what type of pictures does he take? I`m looking for someone who can take a lot of candid shots, some traditional and some photojournalism. Thanks!

Michael O'Neill
We looked at many web sites before calling anyone. I wanted to make sure I liked the photos before wasting time. Michael O'Neill's photos on their site really caught our eyes, so we called them, and they have been absolutely great to work with in every aspect as we get closer to our Sept. wedding. http://www.monphoto.com

Michael O`Neill
My fiance and I met with them last week and we thought they were horrible??? We couldn't meet with the photographer. We met with the wife. It felt like she was selling us a car. All their samples in their books were from the 80's. And we noticed it's the same pictures, just scattered in different albums. And their video demo they showed us was from 1993. What is that??? We were actually laughing at the video. My fiance, my mom and myself thought they were not good. Especially after seeing Paul Marino. Good luck to you though. All experiences are different, but ours was a joke. I would not recommend them. Sorry to sound to negative about them, but when you're trying to sell your business at least update your albums to show people.

Lee- question regarding Paul Marino
We just booked Paul Marino. From what we saw he takes a little of everything. He might take more candids if you want him too. You should ask. He's very flexible and his quality and talent show when you see his work. We were there last Tuesday and he showed us pictures of a wedding he did that past weekend. It's nice also because it's his studio and he's the only photographer. His personality is great too. Give him a call! It's worth it.

Teri - response regarding Paul Marino
Teri, I'm sure he can really load up on the candids if you ask him. There are several in our proofs. The thing is, the comment I keep getting about Paul is that he uses poses and creates backgrounds that are very unique. People keep mentioning how they have never seen pictures like this before. You should definitely stop in and see the range of photos. One example - at Old Westbury Gardens, he told the whole bridal party to just pose together however we felt like it -- it turns out it is the most spectacular picture of the group. All natural and relaxed. He is just a pleasure to work with. I also wanted very 'photojournalistic' pics and I am exceptionally pleased with my proofs - picking my album is going to be a nightmare!! LOL! Good Luck!

Michael O`Neill
Obviously we have had very different experiences. Kathy O'Neill has been excellent to work with and did not come across at all like she was giving us a sales pitch, but afterall, she is there to point out the qualities of their work and yes, to sell their product. She has an incredible memory and has been very flexible and accomodating in all our discussions and appointments. We were basically ready to book on the spot, but she made us feel comfortable in taking time to think about it .. at least the night. (I called the next morning to book). In our very first meeting, we did get to speak directly with Michael and found his input very helpful. Our engagement photos came back and we are very happy with them. Michael O'Neill made us feel very comfortable and at ease during the shooting, which will be very important for our wedding day when we will surely be tense. Their studio is staying on the cutting edge of technology by offering your photos on CD-Rom. Plus, they offer great special effects done with the computer, and they have prints to show this work, both on the internet and in their studio .. and these photos obviously can't be from the 80s. In addition, while Melissa and her fiance found the video laughable, it was basically what my fiance and I were looking for. Plus, we have the option of having it on DVD. I loved how they had the bride and groom telling the story of how they met, then spliced the two stories together, so you got the bride starting the story with the groom finishing it. And the video box can be specially made just for us since they will have our photos .. they do a really great looking movie style poster, which they also can put use on the video/DVD cases. It really has an outstanding finished look. Everyone needs to make their decisions based on their wants and needs, and clearly people are going to have different opinions on vendors.Welcome New Vendors
