help with photographers

I need help determining a fair price for photography services. My best friend is getting married upstate and I have met with her photographer while I was visiting her, and his packages seem very reasonable (starting at $1195) and he is willing to do a Long Island wedding. I am lost when it comes to prices and I would like to try and avoid having to call a million places to get pricing information. Can anyone give me a heads up on about how much a photographer costs? Thanks so much!

Try Lighthouse Photography Studio in Port Jeff. & Glendale. They are AWESOME to say the least! Their prices start around $895 & go from there depending on what you want/ need when it comes to albums & such.

Honestly, it really depends on what you want and what you're getting for that price. They may start at that price, but that could be just for him to be there taking photos the day of the wedding. Prints/albums/etc. might not be included. We paid $3800 for 10.5 hours of photography with 2 photographers (and an assistant), 500 printed edited proofs, CDs with edited and raw photos, 2 parent albums, and a bride and groom album. This was booked with Duet Photography. Good luck!

If youre on a budget, and are just getting your photos, make sure that you are getting every pic on a CD full size, raw, and edited so that you can always make prints, get them into albums, maybe decide to touch some of them up really nice etc.

Im getting two cds, one with just small touchups, then fifteen photos touched up and enhanced, and another CD of the same but all in black and white.
