I would like a non-traditional guestbook (i.e. not the kind full of lines everyone signs). I would like something where they can fill out a word of advice for us, or how they know us, or something like that. Has anyone seen anything like this, in stores, online, etsy, etc.?
Thanks!

very cool, impressed with all your DIY.
I don't want to do a wishbowl, because I'm not sure what I would put everything in thereafter... i bet there's something out there like i am imagining!

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
I ordered a custom guest book from etsy. I didn't want the lined book either, so I got a book with blank pages and our monogram on the top of each page.
You can also have a guest book where you have pictures of you and your FH on every other page and the guests just write their messages around your photos.
Or
You can have the polaroid camera where your guests take pics of themselves, stick it into the book and then write their message next to their pictures.
Or if you can afford it, get a photobooth with a scrapbook where guests stick on their pics from the photobooth into a scrapbook and write messages next to their pics. And it works as a favor also; your guests get one copy of their pics for themselves and another for your scrapbook.

I am making a photo book on koadk.com. I am taking pics of FH & me from when we were younger until now and putting them into the book. I am leaving white spaces around all of the pictures. This way if people do not sign we still have a photo book for ourselves.

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
a photobook is cute or you can rent a photobooth and some of them come with a guestbook where the guests go into the photobooth, take pictures of themselves, and then the photobooth attendant puts together a photo guestbook with the pics taken from the booth that day. I would totally do that if everyone agreed to rent a photobooth but my mom doesn't like it haha. a wish tree is nice too or i remember reading an article where someone had people sign on pieces of cloth that she later had made into a wedding quilt...that was super cute too.

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
I did a photo guestbook filled with 1-2 pics per page of my and DH through our years together. Some guests just wrote their names, but most wrote congrats and some words of advice/wisdom. Since there were no lines, people wrote any amount they wanted.
It makes a great coffee table book! I made it on picaboo.com for $32.
would i be able to load up pictures that i scan in (i.e. us as children, that I don't have digitally?)

You can make a picture book on snapfish.com. That is what my sister did and what I am planning on doing for my guest book. It's up to you what kind of pictures you want to put in it, but you can also leave room for someone to sign it. It's a great idea and is a better keepsake than just a plain book.

how many pages did you put in?

I put in 14 pages (makes 28 front and back) - I had 300 guests at my wedding though!
You basically upload any photos you have on your computer in jpg. form. So you just scan any non-digital pics you have then upload to picaboo.

We had a scrapbook and guests took a picture in a photobooth and attached it to the pages.

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
Do you guys recommend picaboo or snapfish to order a photo book from?
Is it basically idiot-proof? I've never done anything with my pictures online...

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
I saw a wedding where they put out 5 bottles of wine and a silver sharpy marker for everyone to write a short note on the bottles. Then the couple was going to open one bottle on each other their first 5 anniversaries. I thought that was a nice idea.

Re: Help with Unique Wedding Guestbook
I got my guestbook from KCscrapper on etsy. I really liked her unique books, but they are lined on the inside.
