Help! World Series Wedding 2008

I think it was gettinhutched (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that did a whole yankee themed wedding.

You could probably get some cute ideas from her review!

so sorry to hear that I don't even know how to help you exactly if you like at brides review a girl had a yankees theme for her wedding even had the announcer record the bridal parties name so that it can play as they enter the hall

FH wasn't thrilled we'd be on our HM during the playoffs lol. But something had to give!

I'm with ya! I've said many a time...with my luck the mets will make it to the playoffs! :) i totally wouldn't change your THEME otherwise there will be too many last min. 'to dos' depending on weather a team makes it or not.

i'd say - if your FH's team or a local team makes it - make arrangements to have a 'dug out' of sofa's somewhere NEAR the dance floor! this way they don't end up huddled in another room! i'd make it cute and call it the dug out tooo! make an agreement ahead of time with your RH on the details and how it would all be 'pending' finalization of who makes it.
you could also have a monitor - like the flat screens people use for photo montages and run the game on that above the dance floor.
I would just be VERY cautious of putting a tv up in another room or too far away - otherwise you'll loose people to the boob tube completely - and for the most part, it will feel like a high school dance with the girls on one side and boys on the other!
and yes - I KNOW its not just the boys who watch baseball. it was just a generalization - trust me if its the yanks - I'll be the one in front of the TV :) :) :)

We'll have to get all the Oct. brides together and do an anti-baseball dance together! :) as much as I love the game - i have no desire to incorporate it :)

We had our eparty last October during the playoffs and the place doesn't have TVs simply for these reasons!

you can definitely do a baseball themed wedding. it was something FH and I looked into.

you can also ask the DJ or band MC to make score announcements thru out the night.

you don't need to do a t.v. b.c nowadays anyone who cares about it can get scores on their phones and PDAs.

you can do your colors in your favorite team. you can give autographed baseballs from you and your FH. (maybe even the bridal party too)

I love this idea!

Yesterday was my nephew's baptism, and it was also an important playoff game for the Giants. One of the guests brought with him a small hand-held tv to the reception, and there was a large group of men right outside the room watching the game.

I think (and this is totally my opinion) it would have been better to provide a small tv near the bartender's area to at least keep the people inside. That way they could still dance and eat and occassionally get up to catch the game.

As i said, it's my opinion.
