Ok im kinda freaking out right now. I booked my officiant in January...a year and a half before my wedding because I absolutely loved her. Earlier this evening she called FH and said that someone who she was supposed to marry this year changed there date and all their vendors and just informed her...they changed their date to nexxt year...MY DATE ... and the people asked her to ask us if they could use her and we could have a collegue of hers. I'm beyond mad because I have a contract with her and i dont think its my problem that someone else changed their date and I think it is ridiculous for her to even ask me to do this. So now I am at the point of wanting to find someone else... but I don't know of any other good officiants. Can someone pleaseeeeee recommend some for me?? Thanks so much!!

Wow i cant believe the other couple is making it so hard for you. That isnt right. If she is already booked for our date then they need to find someone else. That stinks I'm sorry

personally i would just tell her no you wont do that. you booked her. its not your fault that they changed all their plans.

I will definately try pastor april. THe one I had booked was really good but just the fact that should would even handle her business this way is really ridiculous to me. Wedding stuff is stressful enough and now having to potentially redo something I thought was done really upsets me.

Who is the officiant? because this happened to someone else & then promised them she would be attheir wedding & ended sending her collegue who wasnt experieneced at all! So if i were you i would tell her since you have a contract you expecther to be at your wedding & send teh collegue to them! OR get a new officiant quick if it the one that pulled this with an 08er!

If you really liked the original officiant you booked then tell her that you will not accept another person and the other couple needs to make other arrangements. Don't drive yourself crazy because another couple changed their plans.....You are the one with a contract for that date!!!

I can not believe that. I would tell her that the other couple needs to take the collegue. It's not your fault that they changed their plans. A contract is a contract and you have her contracted for THAT date... not them.

Hi girls... so heres the update... I made an appointment with Pastor April for next Thursday and I'm looking into a few others. Hopefully I will be able to connect with one of them they way I originally connected with the one I booked, and I can just tell this one to forget it because I don't understand how she could even ask me to do something like that. uhm, she should have told them she was already booked and thats that. it shouldnt be your problem and if you have a contract she has to honor that.

I don't know how far you want to push this but I feel like legally she can't do that....like you said it isn't your fault this bride pushed her date back..... but then again do you really want to use this person knowing that she did this to you in the first place.

Not really because I feel like now I can't be sure that she will be there on my wedding day... thats why I really need to check other people out.... I'm so sad bc I really thought that the officiant was one aspect of my wedding that was a done deal. Ahhh...the wedding stress is terribleeeeee

1, thats insane. SHE HAS YOU FOR THAT DATE. THEY should be the ones who change their officiant. 2.You have a contract..so that makes it even worse.
I don't know if I would even go with her at all now. i would find someone else asap...
