I'm from Brazil and here the 'bridesmaid thing' is very different. The girls can wear anything they want any color they want. I put a picture of my frieds wedding so you guys can check how it is.
Anyway,
I would like to know if it would look bad if the bridesmaid wear the same color and different styles and fabrics, or even do something different. They don't like the idea of wearing the same fabric since they have different type of bodys.
I would like to have your opinions! I'm having a traditional wedding over there and and 90% of the guests are americans.

If you watch any style channel show it'll say anything goes. It depends on what you had envisioned. If you want the girls the same or different is up to you. I think as long as the colors don't clash it will be just fine.

If you have the girls wear the same color, but different fabrics and dresses, I think it would be fine. My friends got married last March and all the girls wore different dresses but the same Sage green color and it looked nice.

Lots of brides just give their bridesmaids a color and designer to choose from and then give them total freedom from there. It is very common!

agree with the posts above - choose a color and designer and letthem pick their gowns as a compromise. btw - looked at the picture you posted - the multiple colors of the dresses look beautiful too!

its your wedding!! you can do what you want!
if you want to 'americanize' your bridal party all different shades of a color would look nice..
or try and have the girls wear the same designer so the color will be in the same and all the girls can wear what fits them best

it should be fine. my friend is doing something similar for her wedding. she gave us the color and let us choose a dress that suits our body types; I hope it looks alright because my dress is a different material than everyone else's dresses.
