OK-so as I posted the other day, I bought my dress and absolutely LOVE IT!! But I ordered it not as it is, but with many alterations--such as the bottom is to be made entirely different, full with 1inch box pleats and gatherings on the side(not like any dress that designer actually makes). The woman at Bridal Reflections pinned it up for me and it was exactly the way I want it. But now I am stressing that when she explains to the designer how to make the bottom it wont translate exactly as it was. I saw what she wrote down on my receipt and Im nervous that the designer wont 'get' exactly what she means and my dress wont be as it was the other day. This is seriously stressing me and keeping me up....I dont want to call and look like a crazy bride--what do you guys think?? Is this just my typical anxiety-prone obsessing or am I likely to not get just what I described. Has anyone had experience with ordering their dress and not having it as described?? PLEASE HELP--this is my first bridal stress and I cant feel like this until August when my dress comes in!!

I would definitely call and double check. It can't hurt. Just let them know that you were re-reading the receipt and just want to be sure the instructions are clear for the designer. It is your dress...you want to make sure they don't screw it up!

Call - it will put your mind at ease and better to take care of this now than later when the dress is already made! You are not being unreasonable, just want assurance that the dress is going to come out right.

Can you go back there and have them take a pic of you in the dress to get the idea then send it to the designer?

Hey everyone--thanks for your replies. I went in to clear it up(becuase you guys convinced me that I wasnt being just a crazy bride) and everything is fine. She explained exactly what the descriptions she sent the designer meant and I feel 1,000 times better--now I can sleep:)) The seamstress (Christine or Christina) at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place was totally understanding and put me at ease about not wanting to look like a crazy bride. So far my experience there has been really really good. They took the extra time just to put me at ease and she didnt need to look it all up--she remembered me and what I wanted right away--great experience.

If it will make you feel better, than call. I'm sure they are used to it. You are spending a lot of money. You have every right to make sure that it is perfect.
