Here are BOTH colors of our dishes...WHAT!? No one likes my dishes that I FINALLY get to use!!!

in terms of linens/placemats and maybe decorating the kitchen??? the other color is called Seafoam and is kind of a washed out green color
**ETA: the appliances are white, the counter tops are a darker grey color, and the cabinets are a maple color with matte silver hardware (kinda of modern looking)

Driftwood....

OTHER COLOR!!! SEAFOAM....NOTICE THE WASHED OUT LOOK....

I would say mustard yellow and reds.

If you were going to paint, I'd say teracotta, but that's my color of the moment. If you found place mats or currents with either dish color in the desing ( not solid) I think that would look nice.

Have you put your foot down about Christmas lights? especially the ones shaped like peppers!

My FH never lived in adorm. . .didn't get that out of his sytem. . .

LOL....no chili peper lights....DH has a mirror disco ball he wants to put up!!!

He also has quite the collection for his own personal ARCADE!!!!

AS for the dishes and such....just curious as to accessories & linens that would look nice. We might not paint.

do you absolutely HAVE to match your kitchen to your dishes?
We just chose a color we loved for the kitchen and went with it.

Luckily for us, our dishes would have matched any color - they're fiestware, and none of them are the same color!

I understand......well, if you're only looking for matching accessories.....bring a bowl, got o the store and get a whole variety that match!!
you don't have to stick with just one color - get a variety!

Tan or beige goes with everything.
If you're talking about painting your kitchen walls, I would do tan walls (maybe do something to textureize it like sponging?) and white trim.

As for your DH dorm style motif - ask him where he last saw a house that had a disco ball hanging in the middle. Tells you how popular they are right?!?!

Yeah I told DH all his 'art' and collections can go into a separate room when we buy a co-op. And if we buy a house with a family room or den he can put it in there but NOT in the living room or dining room or kitchen or bedrooms!

ok, i was thinking about this all night as i was cleaning and putting away my dishes!!!

i think bright white would look great, to really bring out the colors of the dishes....and you can accent with reds and mustards, oranges and browns if you want to ......

I agree with a terra cotta color. Maybe do some sponge painting with the seafoam green, the mustardy yellow and the terra cotta. I love sponge painting!!

Ok, here me out, what about those bamboo place mats? They would give a nice background to those colors. Just a thought....just a thought! I'm good at these things, usually, so let me think!
