fh's parents are divorced both are remarried. both sets of parents havent contributed financially to the wedding. they recently just offered to pay for the rh dinner. they would split it.
meanwhile, my mom paid for our e party by herself.
we got an email from fh's dad, saying that he wants us to invite fh's stepsisters (2) kids. this would be 3 kids. the only kids that are at the reception are the ones in the BP. we did this for a reason. we are paying for the wedding and we didint want all kids.
true thses 3 children are from oot. so i understand, that it may be hard not to brinig them, however, they can bring their babysitteer with them. I have done this for a family member, i went with them to ohio for a wedding to watch the kids.
fh & i really do not see these children much and do not want them at the wedding. they are all under 3yrs also.
help!!! how do we get out of this nicely.

Re: here we go.... first issue
i would find a babysitter that can watch the kids that night ...whether its at he hotel or at a family members house
we are not having any small children! the only child we are allowing is his niece who is goin to be the flower girl, and she will be picked up by someone in her family that is not attending the wedding and taken 2 be watched

I myself am excited to have kids at the wedding although I have been noticing that I am not joined by many in this aspect.
I personally would say : listen we are paying for the wedding and we really at this point can't add any kids on but maybe if they don't have a babysitter we could help you find someone out here to help you. We already told others that they could not bring their children so it wouldnt be fair.
Even if the last part isn't true add it in...

Look i have alot of OOT with kids. The children are not invited. Its a wedding an evening affair & its a late night. Just tell them while you love the children you can not invite the kids because then you would have to invite ALL of the kids! You cant do that! Its not fair to invite 1 set of kids & no-one elses. The only 2 i have coming or in the BP my FG & RB

First let me say that those are you fh siblings and they are not any other kids (ex. Cousins, friends, etc) they are your soon to be father in laws sons or daughters! Your future brother in law or sister in law. Three kids shouldn’t throw off you budget! What could it cost you an additional $300.00 tops! Wait they are under 3 they shouldn’t cost you nothing, think about this one day you will have kids and you will be in the same situation and, would you want to leave your kids with an oot stranger! I don”t think so! As far as paying for anything where is the rule that the parents (your & fh) should pay for anything!

Re: here we go.... first issue
if you absolutly want no kids i would either do the babysitter thing or just say you are not having kids at the wedding. But remember this.. my parents were invited to a family wedding when i was little and they didnt go becuase my aunt wouldnt make an exception for us (OOT) you dont want that to happen they are you future sister and brother in laws!
does your place make you pay full price for kids under 3? if not, with all going on that day im sure you wont notice the 3 kids there. I say its an exception you dont want to start off on a bad foot with FH family. -just my opinion
btw. what does your FH think? I let mine decide things like this... its his family.. lol

Isn't there anyone from where they live that can watch them without coming here? Maybe if you made it sound like a mini vacation for the adults they'd be more excited to leave their kids home.
