I don't know why people insist on being repeat offenders of that question!! My grandparents CONSTANTLY ask and it is sooooo annoying...does it really matter??? I hate when people ask...it's rude!

I have to say my future FI is quite nosey and this is something he is not shy to ask. Actually I never thought of it as rude, so long as you are willing to accept the answer of I'd rather not say.

I know when he asks he asks for two reasons. One he is just out right nosey and likes to know how much things costs (he will ask about anything)

and two he also likes to make sure he covers his plate or comes somewhere in the ballpark of

So i guess I dont think it is that odd, and I say if you don't want to answer find some sort of question to turn it around on them, or simply say I would rather not talk numbers, but I am happy with what we are getting.

I've had lots of people ask me and I think it's kinda rude.
Now that they know though, I expect them to give me enough to cover their plate!

I don't mind telling but that's me.

If it bothers you, ask them why they need to know. Plain and simple.
